Saskatchewan wins bronze at Football Canada Cup
Team Saskatchewan didn’t walk away empty handed at the 2025 Football Canada Cup in Antigonish, Nova Scotia.
Saskatchewan defeated Quebec 36-8 to win the bronze medals and a third-place finish.
Easton Gosselin of Humboldt is a member of Team Saskatchewan.
Saskatchewan won their first game on Monday, July 14, beating New Brunswick 42-0.
19 Stingrays advance to provincials
19 swimmers from the ACT Swift Stingrays advanced to the provincial swim meet.
They competed at South Semi-Finals in Estevan over the weekend.
Talyah Cuthbert won gold in the overall age group high point totals for 15 to 17 girls.
Lincoln Moffit won bronze in 11 & 12 boys.

18U AAA Red Sox end regular season with a win and loss against Sun Devils
It was a split on Saturday for the 18U AAA East Central Red Sox against the Zone 7 Sun Devils.
The Red Sox won the first game 10-4. Cade Britz led the way at the plate with three hits and scored three runs.
Graydn Wilson opened the scoring with an RBI double in the first inning.
Podium finishes for Kindersley, Macklin, Unity U17 softball teams
Three Softball Saskatchewan medals came back home to West Central Saskatchewan over the weekend. At the U17 'C' draw in Tisdale the Kindersley Royals beat the Unity Panthers in the championship game for a gold/silver finish, while the Macklin Lakers fell just short in 'B' competition in Rosthern and Hague claiming silver in a finals heartbreaker.
Starting with Macklin, the Lakers were the only local team in a 21-team field.
Host Royals fall short in 11U provincials in Kindersley
It was the Kindersley Royals versus the Prince Albert Royals in Sunday's 11U AA Tier 7 championship final in Kindersley, and it went down to the wire, with an exciting finish going the road Royals way in a one run walk-off victory.
A rainy weekend around the province caused problems for local diamonds, and Kindersley was no different. Despite puddles on the infield each morning the tournament still managed to play its way into championship Sunday where the weather actually smartened up by first pitch.
Viva Las Victories: Team Sask 15U strikes gold twice
Saskatchewan basketball showed out bigtime on the courts in Las Vegas last week. Team Sask 15U, led by Unity native Zenon Orobko as head coach, won big in Vegas taking home the championship title for both the "Las Vegas Classic" and "Las Vegas Finale" tournaments.
Airdrie football stars shine bright at U18 Football Canada Cup
Four Airdrie football stars helped Team Alberta capture gold at the U18 Football Canada Cup in Antigonish, Nova Scotia.
They beat Team Ontario in the final 37-34 in overtime.
The Airdronians that competed in the event include:

- Colton Jackson-McConnell - Linebacker
- Ryder Frampton - Defensive back

Grizz the first to raise new Country Cup
The Bow Valley Grizzlies have become the first team to raise the newly created Country Cup in Division 2 men's rugby—and now face the challenge of trying to keep it.
On July 19, the Grizzlies overpowered the Foothills Lions in the second half en route to a 37-14 victory.
Grizzlies head coach Ty Hawes said the Lions came out strong and shut down Bow Valley’s passing game until a late first-half try gave his side a narrow lead.
Successful Sask Amateur Golf Championships wraps up at Humboldt Golf Club
The championship podium had a southern feel at the Saskatchewan Amateur Golf Championships at the Humboldt Golf Club (HGC).
Corey Bailey of Swift Current claimed the 2025 Men’s Mid-Amateur Championship.
Bailey opened with an 8-under 64, followed by a 1-under 71 before shooting a 2-over 74 in the final round to claim the championship.
Sultans punch ticket to MJBL finals
The Carillon Sultans played strong, fundamental baseball, as well as capitalized on their opponents mistakes, earning themselves a three-game sweep, and putting them back in the Manitoba Junior Baseball League finals.
