AgraCity - a generic crop input supplier - sending out an important notice yesterday to its clients thanking them for their patience while they work through their operational restructuring after experiencing cash flow problems.
AgraCity owes product to a number of farmers and is attempting to reimburse growers for crop inputs they bought but did not receive.
The company announced they have restarted their packaging and product fulfillment operations and will be making products available to customers soon.

A local business is helping to raise funds for an 18-month-old Airdronian to help her fight a rare form of eye cancer.
Baby H is currently in a fight with retinoblastoma, and Great Clips in Airdrie is donating $10 from every haircut they do from July 25-27.
Bre Kaglar, the mom of baby H, explained they currently have to travel to Toronto every month for the next 15 months so she can receive treatment.

Rainy July: Airdrie sees nearly twice the normal amount
Airdrie has seen a lot more rain than usual during July.
Christy Climenhaga, a scientist with Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), explained that Airdrie has seen almost double what it is used to.
"The Calgary area (including Airdrie) has seen 128 millimetres of rain just during July."
According to her, the normal is around 65 millimetres for the month.
"It's not a record, but it has been a soggy July, especially in the last week or so."

Rocky View County celebrates $1M milestone supporting STARS
Rocky View County has surpassed $1 million in cumulative donations to STARS Air Ambulance, marking a major milestone in a partnership that spans more than three decades.
Since 1991, the municipality has made annual contributions to STARS, and in 2017, they adopted a per capita funding model of $2 per resident. In 2019, it became the first municipality in central and southern Alberta to earn its logo on a STARS helicopter.
Airdrie RCMP charge male for 2024 fatal collision
On Aug. 25, 2024, Airdrie Rural RCMP responded to a two-vehicle collision on Highway 2, just north of Airdrie.
One of the drivers, a 56-year-old male resident of Edmonton, was pronounced deceased at the scene. A passenger from the vehicle was transported by STARS Air Ambulance to Alberta Children’s Hospital, while the second driver was taken to hospital by ground ambulance, with non-life-threatening injuries.
