Easter Bunny to make early stop in Strathmore for annual egg hunt
Strathmore will get an early visit from the Easter Bunny this year.
For 30 years, the fun-loving character has hidden eggs across Kinsmen Park.
Carey Rose with the Reps at REMAX/Key organizes the event in partnership with local businesses.
"Our team has put this together for the last few years, and we love it." Rose said. "We have local business sponsorships to help us get everything that we need together."

Lacombe trade show returns with 80+ vendors and family fun this Easter weekend
The Lacombe & District Chamber of Commerce is inviting residents and visitors to attend the 42nd Annual Trade Show and Market Place, taking place at the Gary Moe Sports Complex on Friday, April 18, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday, April 19, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
With over 80 vendors, free family activities, and a strong community focus, this event continues to be a staple in Lacombe's spring calendar.

The U.S. based Mighty Oaks Foundation brought its faith-based leadership programming to Canada for the first time over the weekend, with men's focused events in Altona and Gretna. Retired Marine Commander Jeremy Stalnecker and Retired Navy SEAL Senior Chief Luis Rivera led the sessions for the non-profit dedicated to helping veterans, first responders and spouses recover from PTSD.

Blumenort leading the southeast in charitable donations
Residents of southeastern Manitoba continue to donate more money to charity than either the provincial or national average. That is according to recently released data from Statistics Canada.
Statistics Canada has now released figures from the 2023 tax year. The median donation per tax filer in Canada that year was $390 and for Manitoba, it was $600. Both those averages are up from 2022. The median donation amount represents the middle point: half of the donors gave more than the median and the other half gave less.
High school students to compete in "Envirothon" at Tourond Creek
For the first time, the Seine Rat Roseau Watershed District (SRRWD) is hosting the East Regional Manitoba Envirothon.
"The Envirothon is a hands-on education competition for high school students," says Alex Wolf, a watershed technician at the SRRWD.
She says the day starts off with a learning session, where teams learn about different tools they'll need to use at trail stops through the day.
Street dance coming back as downtown construction continues
With downtown construction progressing, the Downtown Business Association is looking ahead to the return of one of its most popular events.
“One thing we’re really excited about this year is our street dance will be back on Fourth and the city and ASL, all those people have assured us that we’re going to have it back down on Fourth, so July 19, we’re aiming for that,” said Laurel Buck, chairperson of the DBA and owner of A&A Jewellery.
However, Buck said the annual summer street fair may take a break this year.
