HCAA Cross Country District Championship Result
The HCAA Cross Country District Championships were held on Thursday, October 5 at the Carlton Trail Ski Club’s Dixon trails northwest of Humboldt.
The top 10 finishers in the Intermediate, Junior, and Senior categories have qualified for the SHSAA Provincial Championship event set to be held in Regina on October 21.

The Humboldt Broncos remained undefeated in the regular season with a solid 6 - 2 win over the visiting La Ronge Ice Wolves last night.
The Broncos turned on the offense early outshooting the Ice Wolves 23 - 4, but goalie Topher Chirico turned everything aside for a scoreless first period.

The whopping 900 pound pumpkin that took the top prize at this year’s Pilger Pumpkin Fest pretty much needed its own area code. Carving this one would have required a chain saw and a drill press and would have left the owner with a mighty fine pet shelter or garden shed.
Wakaw/Hoodoo Fire and Rescue responds to structure fire Northwest of Wakaw
On September 29, Wakaw/Hoodoo Fire and Rescue received a call about a structure fire 25 km northwest of Wakaw.
Cudworth/Hoodoo Fire Rescue and the One Arrow Fire Department were dispatched immediately to assist in the response.
Three engines and two tankers responded to the scene, and upon arrival, the structure was fully engulfed.
Fire crews performed a defensive attack on the structure, and a stationary water supply was set up on the scene with tankers shuttling water.

The Humboldt and District Food Bank will be one of the beneficiaries from the food drive held this summer by the Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation in concert with the Food Banks of Saskatchewan.
HCAA cross country runners hit the trails at Dixon
The HCAA Cross Country pre-districts were held yesterday at the Carlton Trail Ski Club grounds near Dixon.
The top 20 finishers in each category, plus runners who are awarded an entry due to special circumstances will be participating in the District Championships slated for next Thursday at the Ski Club.
In team results, Wynyard Comp came out on top followed by St. Brieux and Annaheim.
Swimming Stars Shine at Humboldt Hammerheads Awards Night
At the Humboldt Hammerheads awards night, coach Leisl Lefebvre expressed gratitude towards the parents for their unwavering support, from driving swimmers to practices to cheering at meets. The swimmers were also commended for their dedication and willingness to try new races, highlighting the unique balance between individual pursuits and team spirit in speed swimming.
