BHP awards 26 scholarships to Carlton Trail College students
BHP and Carlton Trail College are pleased to announce the recipients of the BHP Jansen Scholarship Program for 2023. The scholarship provides combined support of over $82,000 to 26 youth pursuing post-secondary education and training opportunities in a field of their choosing. Carlton Trail College is a partner in this initiative, administering the program on BHP’s behalf.
White Butte RCMP on the search for missing 15-year-old female
On February 14, 2024, White Butte RCMP received a report of a missing 15-year-old female, Margaret “Maggie” Lagimodiere.
RCMP says Maggie was last seen February 14 at approximately 5:10 a.m. near the town of Pilot Butte. Since she was reported missing, White Butte RCMP has been checking places Maggie is known to visit and following up on information received. They are now asking members of the public to report information on Maggie’s whereabouts.
Humboldt Aquatic Centre closed due to mechanical issue
Due to a mechanical Issue, the Humboldt Aquatic Centre will be closed February 14 until 11:00 am on Thursday, February 15.
The City of Humboldt apologizes for any inconvenience.

Snow and ice mix to compromise road conditions in Humboldt
Take care on the roadways today, as a combination of established ice and new falling snow may make for interesting driving on area roadways. Several days of freezing drizzle have resulted in an accumulation of ice, particularly on streets. Light snowfall over the next 24 hours, driven by gusting easterly winds, are likely to polish those roadways further.

STARS completes first neonatal transport in Saskatchewan
A Saskatchewan newborn baby needing critical care was helped by STARS as it completed its first-ever helicopter neonatal intensive care transport.
STARS says the new equipment used in the mission received approval late last year, and when the need arose in December 2023, STARS crews were able to respond.

On February 4, 2024, White Butte RCMP received a report of two missing youths, 13-year-old female Jorja Pelletier-Ross and 12-year-old female Brooklyn Morin.
Area organizations receive lottery grant support
Humboldt and Melfort area charitable organizations received over $41,000 in funding courtesy of gaming grants provided by Lotteries and Gaming Saskatchewan (LGS) as part of its third-quarter fiscal year disbursement.
RCMP responds to fatal rollover near Lestock
Punnichy RCMP responded to a fatal single vehicle rollover near the community of Lestock.
At approximately 2:50 a.m., Punnichy RCMP received a report of a single vehicle rollover on Highway #15, approximately seven kilometres west of Lestock, SK. Officers immediately responded.
The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was declared deceased by EMS at the scene. He has been identified as a 17-year-old from Foam Lake, SK. His family has been notified.
Punnichy RCMP continue to investigate with the assistance of a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist.
