Brianna Elliot has been named the recipient of the 2025 Reg Schellenberg Next Generation Legacy Award, the honour recognizing outstanding leadership in the Canadian Cattle Young Leaders (CYL) Program.
This award celebrates individuals who embody the values championed by the late Reg Schellenberg - humble leadership, a commitment to mentorship, a spirit of collaboration, and unwavering dedication to the Canadian cattle industry.
Reg Schellenberg, former President of the Canadian Cattle Association, passed away suddenly in December 2022. In his memory, the Schellenberg family established a fund through the Canadian Cattle Foundation to support the CYL Program.
Each year, a CYL graduate is selected to receive the award, which includes a travel bursary to attend the 2025 Saskatchewan Beef Industry Conference, and a commemorative belt buckle donated by the Schellenberg family ranch, Perrin Ranching 1996 Ltd.
CYL participants nominate peers who exemplify the award’s values - positive, humble leadership, the ability to unite others toward a common goal, and exceptional ambassadorship for the Canadian beef industry. Finalists were interviewed, and Brianna Elliot was chosen as this year’s honouree.
