The Steinbach Pistons are playing tonight, and the organization is honouring our veterans.
Head Coach Paul Dyck says this game is extra special.
“We are wearing military themed jerseys, designed by Tyson Kehler and he just did a bang-up job in designing them.” he explains. “So, we're really excited about it, for one, the jerseys are really cool and two, we’re just honoured to play a part in giving back to our military and our veterans.”
The Steinbach Pistons military themed jerseys are being auctioned off in support of the local branch of the Royal Canadian Legion and the Poppy Fund.
Dyck says money from the jerseys will support the men and women who have served and are currently serving our country.
“Often, they’ve put their careers on hold for it, and sacrificed careers in different areas, maybe a business,” he says. “So, eternally indebted to them and certainly very, very appreciative of what they've done for our country and freedoms that we have here.”
The Pistons will be wearing these special jerseys for their November 11th match against the Portage Terriers. Game time is 7:30pm at the TG Smith Centre in Steinbach.
You have until Sunday, November 13th at 9pm to place a bid in this special auction.
