Foam Lake Flyers win LLHL Championship in overtime thriller over the Drake Canucks
The Foam Lake Flyers finished off their season on a high note as they claimed the Long Lake Hockey Championship by defeating the Drake Canucks 7-6 in overtime.
Foam Lake won the best of five series 3-2.
It was a fast start to the game, with the two teams combining for seven goals. The Flyers led 4-3 after 20 minutes.
In the second period, Drake closed the gap, by tying the game at 5-5.

Another provincial championship will soon be added to the rafters at the Elgar Petersen Arena thanks to the U13 ‘A’ Humboldt Broncos.
On Saturday, Humboldt completed their immaculate run through the ‘B’ provincial championship tournament, defeating the Moosomin Rangers 6-3, winning the best of three series 2-0.
Ben Hinz scored two goals with Hudson Odelein, Levi Coggar, Bennett Trann and Michael Corcoran also scoring. Ridge Beggs chipped in with three assists.
Allan Flames win 2024-25 Twin Rivers Hockey League championship
The Allan Flames are the 2024-25 Twin Rivers Hockey League champions.
On Friday night, the Flames finished off the championship series defeating the Willow Cree Chiefs 8-4 and winning the series 3-1.
Cody Pongracz scored a hat-trick and added two assists. Keith Mitchell also had a hat-trick and added an assist. Brodie Senger chipped in with two goals and an assist.

Last weekend, Humboldt opened the final series with a 5-3 win.
Opening faceoff for tomorrow’s game is 2:30. If Moosomin beats Humboldt, then the two teams will battle in a ten minute “mini game” immediately following Game 2.
