Pinnacle and Tankard to combine for one big Saskatchewan Curling event in Kindersley

Two big provincial curling championships have merged into one mega Saskatchewan event. 

For the first time, both the Viterra Pinnacle (formerly the Scotties) and SaskTel Tankard will be played concurrently at the same place. 

Kindersley will be the site of both events from January 21-26.  

Alberta clipper system to bring snow and more winter activity to the area

A fresh batch of snow should be arriving in Humboldt on Friday. 

A clipper system in Northern Alberta will be making its way into Saskatchewan and will bring precipitation to the province.  

Chris Stammers, Meteorologist Environment Canada says some light snow will begin to fall in Humboldt in the afternoon, but the significant snow activity will occur during the evening, where we could 2-4 cm in total.  

Don't Mind Us Improv Comedy to bring big laughs for St. Brieux Kin Club big event

There should be some big laughs at the St. Brieux Kin Club's Big Event this year. 

On Saturday, January 25 Mark Schweighardt and Lee Bells from LCD Productions will bring their Don't Mind Us Improv Comedy Show at the Community Hall. 

The duo’s show is an interactive show that promises to have the audience engaged and entertained throughout the night.  

Verba Ukrainian Dance to celebrate Malanka on Saturday in Wakaw

Saturday night will mark an important date for the Verba Ukrainian Dance Club in Wakaw. 

They will be performing at the Rec Center as a part of the Ukrainian New Year celebrations. 

President Jasmine Draude the club will be performing along with a group from Saskatoon. The evening will include a meal, following the Ukranian dance performances, there will be an open dance with the Polka Dots. Raffle and door prizes will also be handed out during the evening.  

Local U15 hockey players named to Sask First Top 80 tournament

Hockey Saskatchewan announced the U15 players who have been selected to the Top 80 tournament on Wednesday.

Frosty Fun Ahead: Outdoor rink near St. Dominic School is now open in Humboldt

The ODR (outdoor rink) is buzzing once again in Humboldt. 
 
Just before Christmas, work was completed for the outdoor rink at St. Dominic School. For the last decade, the rink at St. Dominic School has served as the primary outdoor rink for Humboldt since the closure of the rink located near Glenn Hall Park.  

Soon, a second facility, the Jacob Leicht Memorial Rink, located near the Uniplex inside of Centennial Park, will open in the city.
