Southwest Saskatchewan could experience sporadic thundershowers over the next 24 hours before scorching heat returns to the area. 

The shift in weather can be attributed to a low-pressure system, working its way from Alberta to Manitoba, explained Terri Lang, a meteorologist with Environment and Climate Change Canada. 

The Innovation Federal Credit Union has unveiled an exciting new initiative aimed at easing the financial burden of higher education for its members.

Southwest athlete, Dylan Wall left his mark at the 2023 Provincial Waterski Championships held at the Saskatoon Waterski Club on August 18th.  

Wall secured second in the Under 12 (U12) category, earning himself a coveted silver medal for his impressive slalom performance. 

The athlete, from Lac Pelletier, reflected on the highs and near misses of his journey to the podium during his provincial run.

The Swift Current SPCA is urgently seeking foster homes for a litter of tiny, bottle-fed kittens that recently arrived at their facility.  

The 10 Annual Swift Current SPCA Annual John Mueller Memorial Radiothon, which took place on Saturday in downtown Swift Current, has shattered previous records. 

In just six hours, the event raised an astonishing $37,753, marking a significant milestone for the organization and demonstrating the generosity of the community. 

Joanne Schatkoski, the Development Manager of the Swift Current SPCA, shared her excitement about the event's outcome.  

John Mueller Memorial SPCA Radiothon 

Celebrate the Swift Current SPCA’s 50th Anniversary with the 10th Annual John Mueller Memorial SPCA Radiothon today in downtown Swift Current. 

The event will occur from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Market Square or tune in to the Eagle 94.1. 

In a heartwarming turn of events, Bella Thomson, affectionately known as "Bella Brave," has successfully undergone a life-saving bowel transplant after spending three years on the transplant list.  

The nine-year-old from Swift Current, who has been battling a rare bowel disease called Hirschsprung’s disease, finally received the call that will change her life forever. 

Residents of Swift Current and the surrounding areas have expressed growing fear and concern as services at the Cypress Regional Hospital continue to be disrupted, leaving patients in a state of uncertainty.  

The disruptions, which have been occurring intermittently, have led to temporary impacts on urgent and emergent surgeries, higher-risk obstetrical endoscopy, epidural services, and more.
