On January 11 a Christian metal band is hosting an event called 'Rock Against Traffick,' bringing awareness to modern-day trafficking.
Tommy Green, frontman of the band HolyName, is hosting the event in Pomona, CA. The hope is to unite the metal community in a fight against human trafficking.

The Source Church, which has one campus in Winnipeg, will release its first album, Supernatural, later this month.
The team, calling themselves Source Worship, released their first song, "Light of the World," on Dec. 19, 2024.
Pastor credits God for saving his life after getting stuck in a tornado while out fishing
A Texas pastor is thanking God he's alive after getting stuck in a tornado while out fishing.
Pastor Brian Johnson was in a boat with a friend and his dog on a reservoir on Saturday, about 95 kilometres east of Houston when a tornado struck.
"We were fishing because the barometric pressure was changing and we thought it would be good," said Pastor Johnson. "The storm was on the other side [of the reservoir]."
Pastor Matt Chandler asks for prayers for wife after hospital stay with unknown illness
A Texas pastor continues to ask for prayers for his wife who spent several days in the hospital with an unknown illness.
Pastor Matt Chandler of The Village Church in Flower Mound originally shared on Instagram that his wife, Lauren, had a "super high fever and other symptoms." The couple had asked for prayers as she was being "poked, prodded, and scanned up and down and the fever persists."
While the original tests all came back negative, her fever eventually broke which the couple was incredibly grateful for.
Bishop T.D. Jakes returns to the pulpit after medical incident
Bishop T.D. Jakes returned to the pulpit at The Potter’s House Church on New Year's Eve.
This is the first time that the pastor has been able to preach since experiencing a serious medical incident on Nov. 24, 2024.
The congregation welcomed him back with open arms giving him a standing ovation as he took to the stage.
"I cannot tell you how glad I am to be in the house of the Lord tonight," said Bishop Jakes to the congregation. "I don't know what you're going through tonight, but let this be a signal to you that you're on you're on your way to a comeback."
'God is good all the time': Texas couple has prayers answered through Shaq
A Texas couple had their prayers answered in a very unusual way.
Last month, while shopping for a sweater for a family photo shoot in the big and tall section at JCPenney, Laura and Wendell Garrett noticed a crowd. When they looked into it further, they realized it was former NBA star Shaquille O'Neal and his security team.
"We went to another counter and bought the sweater," said Laura. "As we were trying to leave, an employee asked if we could stay for 15 minutes because she had a surprise for us."

What are you listening to? It’s the Bible, spoken so that you can write it down. This type of scripture broadcast is one way Christians outside of North Korea send God’s Word over the border, where other Christians can scribble out their own copies of Scripture.
Steve Bell receives Order of Canada: Tribute to music, community, and social justice
Governor General Mary Simon, Canada's first Indigenous Governor General, presented 63 recipients recently with the Order of Canada, including Winnipeg's own Steve Bell.

Christian artist Leeland made an exciting announcement earlier this month.
Leeland and his wife, Mandy, are expecting a baby next year.
The pair have two daughters, Journey Shipp and Ivy Cloud, who were both adopted.
"Your first momma chose to make me a momma and I don’t have the words to express my love for both you and her," said Mandy in an Instagram post after holding Journey in her arms for the first time.
