Bible sales skyrocketed in 2024 thanks to fresh editions and new audiences
A rise in Bible sales coincides with reports by Lifeway Christian Resources and reflects a growing desire to learn more about God’s Word, say Bible study leaders and those in the industry.
“It’s an interesting time,” said Andy McLean, publisher of Bibles and Reference for Lifeway. “We’ve seen a general increase in the last two or three years with the Bible market. There are a lot of unique types of Bibles out there helping people in different ways understand the meaning of Scripture, and that’s an encouraging thing.”
Elevation Worship wins big at Billboard Music Awards
Elevation Woship was recently recognized at the Billboard Music Awards.
The popular worship band picked up three awards including, “Top Christian Artist,” “Top Christian Album (Can You Imagine?)” and “Top Christian Song (“Praise”).
Since the band was formed, they have picked up a total of five BBMAs, which are determined by year-end performance metrics on the Billboard charts.

The popular Bible app, YouVersion has released the top verse from the app in 2024.
This year, the top verse is Philippians 4:6, which says, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God."
YouVersion Founder and CEO, Bobby Gruenewald says that the top verse is determined by a few factors. "Every year when we see the verse that people engage with the most, it's highlighted, bookmarked and shared the most throughout the year."
Ministry delivering hope to 65,000 inmates this Christmas
A prison ministry based out of Virginia is creating and hand-delivering 65,000 Hope Packs to those currently in prisons.
Good News Global has created Hope Packs for inmates this Christmas that include men and women in 18 states and 20 countries this Christmas.
Each pack contains a Christmas gift, card, 2025 calendar, food, hygiene items, and sharing the good news of Jesus Christ.

Quebec's Catholic bishops have come out against Premier François Legault's desire to end prayer in public places, saying it would violate people's constitutional rights.
Martin Laliberté, president of the assembly of Catholic bishops of Quebec, says he was "stunned" by Legault's recent suggestion that he would like to ban prayer in parks and on city streets. He believes a ban on public prayer would affect a wide range of activities practised by people of many faiths.
