VeggieTales celebrates 30 years
Larry the Cucumber and Bob the Tomato recently celebrated their 30th birthday.
It was on December 21, 1993, that Phil Vischer and Mike Nawrocki, under Big Idea Entertainment, introduced the world to VeggieTales.
In the series, Bob and Larry lead a variety of fruit and vegetable characters on adventures. They retell stories from the Bible while also biblically teaching life lessons.
The first episode of VeggieTales, 'Where's God When I'm S-Scared?" was released as VHS tape in Christian bookstores in 1993. It was later released on DVD and Blu-ray.
Sound of Freedom in the top 10 highest-grossing movies of 2023
Angel Studio's Sound of Freedom ended off 2023 in the top 10.
The faith-based movie which debuted on July 4, 2023, shines a light on the fight against child trafficking. It is based on the true story of former government agent Tim Ballard who quit his job to rescue a little girl from sex traffickers in the Colombian jungle. In the process, Tim saved 123 people, 55 of which were children.

Faith-based films are more prevalent than ever. SAT-7’s program You Are Not Alone recently interviewed a Gazan refugee family who fled to Egypt for urgent medical care for their four-year-old daughter, Kanzi. She was critically injured in a missile strike as their family moved from shelter to shelter in Gaza.
Egypt has allowed roughly 400 Palestinian refugees from Gaza to cross into the country for medical treatment.
'It makes you smile': Henderson Highway church spreads Christmas joy through a wave
A Winnipeg church has found a festive way to spread cheer as Christmas draws near.
On Wednesday morning, members of John Black Memorial United Church dressed up in biblical costumes and lined up along Henderson Highway to wave at people passing by.
"It's called 'The Wave.' We've done it for years and years," said Rev. Laurie Howard. "We dress up in biblical costumes and get out there. We've got Sheppard's and Kings and Mary."
Teen hosts toy drive in Oklahoma, hands out over 10,000 gifts
A young man from Oklahoma has gone above and beyond to make sure kids in his home state and beyond receive a gift this Christmas.
19-year-old Reed Miller, a college freshman, got the idea to start a toy drive in 2016 when he found out a classmate's family was struggling financially and would have to go without gifts that year.
That year, he hosted the toy drive as part of his 4-H project. It has grown significantly since then.
This year, Miller had over 200 volunteers come alongside him to help hand out gifts to more than 10,000 children.
The Chosen release trailer for Season 4, announce tickets on sale for theatrical debut
Excitement is brewing as fans of The Chosen prepare for Season 4 of the ever-popular television series.
For the first time, all episodes of the show will debut exclusively in theatres.
The theatrical rollout of Season 4 will begin with a two-week run of Episodes 1-3 on February 1, 2024. This will be followed by Episodes 4-6, which will hit theatres on February 15. Episodes 7-8 will begin February 29 in the U.S. and Canada.
We The Kingdom helps victims of Maui wildfires with new Christmas song
We The Kingdom is using their latest Christmas song to help families affected by the tragic fires in Maui earlier this year.
In August, a series of wildfires broke out in Maui, killing at least 100 people and destroying the town of Lahaina.
In early November, the band released 'Christmas in Hawaii.' Two weeks ago, they released a music video to go alongside it.
The band has now partnered with the Kahākūkahi Foundation and will give a portion of the proceeds from each click on their music video to the organization.
