Have you ever met someone who always seems so positive despite the many difficulties they are experiencing? Most of my life I have struggled with anxiety and depression, so I have always wondered how a person can emanate joy even during difficult times. Since coming to Christ last year and delving into God’s word, I am starting to understand from where that joy comes.

Many prairie farmers are familiar with the nervousness and sleepless nights that follow the storage of damp grain in bins without proper aeration – or any aeration at all.

Levi Speir, President of the Herbert Stampede Association, and his team are busy getting ready for this year’s rodeo!  

“While we’re still a couple months away from rodeo time, the excitement is already in full force,” he says. 

“Our rodeo is the staple of our community. It’s something everyone looks forward to each year – everyone’s rooting for the bulls, rooting for the riders, and ready to enjoy a good show.”  

Balancing rigorous academics and a whirlwind basketball schedule, one Manitoban student's story is one of dedication, passion, and faith.

"Basketball for me started at the age of four years old," says Chammartin, who attends École Gabrielle-Roy in Ile de Chenes, Man. "I was largely influenced by my dad and brother, who also picked up the sport. Ever since then, I fell in love with the game."

Chammartin plays basketball during the school year for his highschool team, as well as club basketball with Ignite Canada Basketball.
