SBC is building: “it’s happening for real”

SBC is set to begin construction on its new campus in March 2025, with a move in date of September 2026.

Dave Reimer, President of Steinbach Bible College says they are working on finalizing the blueprints for the new building, which will be located at the corner of Loewen Boulevard and Albert Street in Steinbach.

“We're getting close. The board has confirmed that we are moving forward with the project. We have agreed on the building concept. We are now working on blueprints. We hope to see physical action on the property starting in March.”

Healthy land, healthy people, healthy profits

Area farmers are being invited to a free lunch, to learn about funding opportunities for their operations.

On Thursday, February 6th, the Seine Rat Roseau Watershed District (SRRWD) is hosting a Regen Ag Day at the Friedensfeld Hall from 10am-3pm, with lunch provided.

“These events are often hosted in the western part of Manitoba, and the distance makes it difficult for our local producers to make it out to a lot of those meetings and tours – so we're bringing those speakers here to our producers in the Southeast.”

Building Faith & Community: SCS Growth Plans

Steinbach Christian School (SCS) is preparing for another application and hiring season.

“We will begin interviewing prospective teachers in the next few weeks,” notes Principal Thor Barkman. “Applications for student enrolment will determine the total number of teachers we hire, but we are seeing strong interest in the school tours we offer to families, so we anticipate another busy year.”

Peer Connections Manitoba offering peer supports to address mental health challenges

January is Mental Health Awareness Month, and it’s no secret that January is one of the most difficult months of the year when it comes to mental health. Recent studies show that 1 in 3 Manitobans are impacted by mental health challenges, and the number of sick leaves related to mental health are on the rise across Canada. 

Peer Connections Manitoba is combatting those mental health challenges through their programming, including their Peer Support network.
