“It’s time to move on,” Dean and Debbie share. “To enjoy retirement with our families, grandchildren, and friends.”

Powersports passion part of everyday life at family-owned S5 in Rocky Mountain House

Not a day goes by when the Shippelt family isn’t thinking about powersports. Or revving their own dirt bikes. Or providing ATV sales and service to everyone else. For these owners of S5 Powersports in Rocky Mountain House, they’re enthusiasts first and dealers second.

“We used quads back when I was a kid growing up on the farm,” recalls S5 owner Wes Shippelt. “When I got a bit older, I got into dirt biking and have been racing bikes for the last 20 years. It’s our day-to-day, our work as well as our recreation.”

How ATR is Here to Help this Summer

“Most people, when you’re in an accident, or your vehicle is broken down – it’s a first for you. But we deal with this every single day, multiple times a day – so we know how to get you back on the road. Whether that be getting your vehicle to the impound and then to a body shop, getting it home, getting your tire changed, whatever it is – this is what we do, and we’re very good at it. You may not deal with this every day, but we do – and you want to call someone that has experience.”

This is from Steve Franks, who co-owns ATR Logistics with his wife Andrea Allegretto.

SPONSORED: Anchor of Hope: The Visitor

In 2014 we had the pleasure of welcoming a visitor to come live at our home for a few weeks.  She didn’t exactly come alone as soon there were 3 little babies on the way.  You may have guessed; it was a robin that made her nest between the back of one of my patio chairs and an artificial tree in the corner.  My husband Harlan and I were surprised that she built her nest so close to the back door that led out onto the deck, but even more excited when we saw the 3 little sky-blue eggs.  We watched as mother robin would spend hours sitting on those eggs and then one morning when checking on th

Reputation for quality work key to Watson’s Roofing & Siding’s success

If there’s a street in Portage la Prairie that Dan Huberdeau hasn’t driven down, either he’ll be headed there eventually or it doesn’t exist.

“I feel like I’ve been down every street and back lane at some point, trying to get a trailer into a backyard or getting an estimate done,” he says. “Yeah, I know my Portage streets pretty well.”

The third-generation owner of Watson’s Roofing & Siding, Huberdeau actually worked a couple years for the previous owner before acquiring the now-65-year-old business. It was, and remains, work he loves and is very much committed to.

Name That Tune: week seven

Week seven of Name That Tune was a success and Gabe Zerbin walked away with a gift card to Humboldt Sobeys.

He was the first to text in with the correct song scoring him a $50.00 Humboldt Sobeys gift card and chose to stay safe and walk away. Which was the correct move as the next song was a hard one for him.

Listen to the replay below.

You could be next to play tune in Friday mornings to hear the song of the day.
