With heavy hearts we share the sudden departure of our dearly beloved father, brother, uncle, grandfather and great grandfather. George Boyd was 71 years old, a member of Wabaseemoong First Nation, who started his spirit journey on Tuesday, December 26, 2022.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sandra Hobbs, on January 1, 2023 at the Lake of the Woods Hospital in Kenora.

Sandy is survived by her children, Cory (Melissa) and Chrissy (Gareth), grandchildren, Braeden, Paige, Ayla and Emme, brother Daniel, and sisters, Valerie, and Shari.  She is also fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

She was predeceased by her father Steve, mother Laura and brother Ray.

Elizabeth ‘Betty’ Plumridge

Elizabeth ‘Betty’ Plumridge – a resident of Fort Frances, Ontario passed away at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Science Centre on Tuesday, December 13, 2022.

Betty was born in Emo, Ontario on January 13, 1950.

She was predeceased by her husband Munroe who passed away on September 3, 2011.  Her and Munroe were married on September 9, 1972, Munroe was buried on their 39th Wedding Anniversary.

She is survived by on Kevin of Thunder Bay, Ontario, her nephew Mark Kepes and numerous nieces and nephews in Germany.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Len on December 21, 2022. 

Len was predeceased by his loving parents, John and Therese Derouard. He was the cherished brother of Paul (Anita) Derouard, Wilf (Emily) Derourard, Linda Derouard, Allan (Sandy) Derouard, Marie (Stephen) Lundin, Jane (Perry) Dubchak and John (Michelle) Derouard.

With her family by her side, Cheryl Favreau (Sundin) a resident of Laclu Ontario passed away on December 19th, 2022, at Lake of the Woods District Hospital, at the age of 76.

He is predeceased by his parents, Napoleon Kakeeway and Madeline Bird.  Siblings, Larry, Marcella, Cecilia, Gabriel and Noreen.  Aunties Rosaline and Margaret Gauthier and uncle Percy Gauthier (Punchese), Tataton William Gauthier and Mamanon Mary Jane Kelly.  Brother in laws, Dan Cameron and Allan Lachinette Sr., buddies Alfred Henry and Kerry Carpenter.

With heavy and saddened hearts, Gary’s family announces the sad news of his passing. Gary slipped away peacefully on the evening of December 15, 2022 with family members by his side in the oncology unit of the Thunder Bay Regional Hospital.

Gary is survived by his four brothers and their families:

Bill and Bertha: Heather and Alejandro (Jacob and Joshua), Jennifer and Richard (Liam and Evan).
