It is with great sadness the family of Leonard James Spate announce his passing.

He passed away peacefully on March 26th, 2025, surrounded by loved ones, at the Herbert and District Integrated Health Facility.

At Leonard’s request, no formal service will be held at this time.

Marie Peever Obituary

1940 ~ 2025 (age 84)

It is with deep sadness that the family of Marie Peever announce her passing on Wednesday, March 30th, 2025 at the age of 84 years.

Beloved wife of J. Elwin Peever;

loving mother of Kerrie (Chris), Larry (the late Brandi), and Lori (Herb);

cherished grandmother of 8 and great- grandmother of 6 and "chosen child" Briana (Mike) Barnes.

There will be a private family service held for Marie.

Getruda Loewen, 75, of Lowe farm formerly of Mexico passed away Saturday, March 30th at Altona Memorial Health Centre 
She is survived by her husband Wilhelm Loewen Penner, 2 sons, 2 sisters and their families she was predeceased by 2 grandchildren,1 sister and 2 brothers. 
The funeral service for Getruda Loewen will be held Thursday, 2pm at Reinland Mennonite Church, Altona with burial being held at Schoenthal Cemetery. 

Helen Desjarlais Obituary

1953 ~ 2025 (age 71)

Helen Loise Desjarlais passed away on March 26th, 2025, surrounded by her family in the Kindersley Hospital.

Helen is survived by her husband Joseph Desjarlais as well as her three children Jesse, Joe-el and Charles Desjarlais.

She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren Asheni, Mahala, Chaska, Ashki, Lucca, Theodore, Mila, and Isaiah Desjarlais.

Helen was a loving mother, wife, sister, auntie and a friend. She will be deeply missed by many.

It is with sad hearts we announce the passing of our mother Bernadette Abolonia Heck (nee Schatz), late of Regina, Saskatchewan, on March 24, 2025 at the age of 93 with her loving family by her side.

She was predeceased by her husband Steve; daughter Gail Watkins; grandson Kristopher Heck; parents Frank and Christina Schatz; her sisters Theresa Frohlick and Margaret Eberle; her brothers Johnny, Peter and Ben.

Milton Tweten Obituary

1926 ~ 2025 (age 98)

Milton Ardeen Tweten passed away on March 19, 2025, at the age of 98. He was born to Oscar and Myrtle Tweten, the oldest son and brother to Joyce, Gerald and Inez.  Mel worked from a young age for Burns and then Intercontinental Meat Packing Plant, where his ingenious insight into factory function and his innate ability for blueprint creation was utilized.

Katharina Penner nee Wiebe, 91, of Altona passed away Friday, March 28th at Altona Memorial Health Centre. She is survived by 2 daughters, 2 sons, and their families. She was predeceased by her husband Henry G. Penner, 1 daughter in infancy and 1 son. 
The funeral service for Katharina Penner nee Wiebe will be held Sunday, April 6th at 2pm at Altona Sommerfeld Mennonite Church with burial at Plum Coulee Cemetery.

Funeral Date: April 4, 2025 
Bill Zacharias, 72, of Winkler passed away Thursday, March 27th at his residence. He is survived by his wife Joan, 1 daughter and 1 son. 
A memorial service for Bill Zacharias will be held Friday, April 4th at 2pm at Grace Mennonite Church, Winkler with private burial prior to the service. 
Donations may be made to Winkler Bible Camp.
