After four years of design, project tender, and new construction and retrofit of the existing facilities, HavenGroup’s Rest Haven expansion is nearing completion. Now there’s just one more step – hiring additional staff to operate the home at full capacity.

Tracy Whitby has been with Agape House for nearly a decade, where they are currently looking to fill the role of shelter support worker. This is a very important position, as it is the one that keeps Agape running 24/7.  

Manitoba Transportation and Infrastructure’s Hydrologic Forecast Centre has released the 2022 Manitoba Basins Fall Conditions Report, which indicates soil moisture levels at the time of freeze-up are near normal or below normal in most Manitoba basins, Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Doyle Piwniuk announced today.

“It just kind of sets the atmosphere and the tone for the community and for our customers.” 

John Verret understands the importance of celebrating the holiday season, which is why Fairway Ford’s general manager has continued the tradition of decorating their showroom. “It looks beautiful if you ever drive down Main Street in the evening,” he says. “Our staff are always excited.” 

“As far as I’m concerned, we have the best-decorated store in all of Steinbach,” sales consultant Mina Dumcum confirms. “I think Christmas is a wonderful time to celebrate.” 

It was an emotional Feel Good Friday with the Steinbach Auto Dealers as we met with Cheryl and Vinny.

Pharmasave has been operating in Canada since 1981, with over 800 stores in the country. And now, Pharmasave is making itself known in Steinbach.

By now, this probably isn’t news. Neither is the fact that many Steinbachers now call Pharmasave their pharmacy of choice.

What people might now know is how easy it is to make the switch.

“A lot of people think there are legal documents involved or paperwork to be signed, but it’s not hard at all,” says local Pharmasave owner Scott Penner. “It’s literally just a phone call.”

Brightening long nights and adding some sparkle to your holidays, the Hanover Ag Society’s Snow Place Like Home drive-thru winter wonderland of lights is in its third year, opening its gates to the public December 15th to 31st from 6 pm to 9 pm.

Hanover Ag Society President Curtis Dawydiuk is particularly excited about this year’s outdoor light display.

There is Rub-R-Wall waterproofing for homes and businesses, and then, quip River City Coatings co-owners Frank de Rocquigny and Chester Wohlgemuth say, there is “everything else.”

“There’s nothing comparable with this,” Frank explains. “This is actually the only true waterproofing system out there.”

It all began with a picky eater. A picky eater who was also a very good boy.

“We had a German Shepherd, and he was incredibly picky,” recalls Chelsey Westerbeek. “He didn’t like anything that had fillers, and he was very, very picky about what he ate. We went through a number of different brands before finding Canadian Naturals. He was 10-years-old at the time.”

The new pet food changed everything. 

“It energized him,” says Westerbeek, owner of LR Horse & Pet. “He was playful, he was jumping. He was like a puppy again!” 

“When you first open a new store that’s never been in this area before, you kind of go ‘well, I hope this works!’ And then suddenly 10 years have gone by! It’s amazing.”

She felt that if she wanted a certain specialty boutique store in her own community, there might be others who would want the same thing. So, on November 28th, 2012, Penner took the leap.
