Fatal collision on Highway 43 claims one life
On Nov. 28, 2024, at approximately 4 a.m., Valleyview RCMP responded to fatal two vehicle motor vehicle collision on Highway 43 in Sturgeon Lake Cree Nation, Alta. Highway 43 was closed for several hours as emergency crews were responding on scene.
Both vehicles involved have been identified and we are continuing to investigate the incident.
A 31-year-old male was located deceased on the scene.
The RCMP send their condolences to the friends and family of the deceased.

On Thursday, Lauren Daigle posted to Instagram saying that she will be performing at the Superbowl LIX.

Heavy snow for the Peace Country this weekend
Lots of snow this weekend!
For GP and area, A long period of snowfall, with total snowfall amounts of 20 to 30 cm, will continue until Monday.
Total snowfall amounts could reach as high as 50 cm in some locations.
Snowfall will intensify this morning, with totals of 10 to 20 cm expected by this evening.
Snow will become very light tonight but is expected to intensify again on Saturday and will continue through the weekend.
Snow will end on Monday.
Liberals, NDP pass bill to enact two-month GST holiday in House of Commons
The Liberals' GST holiday bill is one step closer to becoming law after it was passed by a majority of the House of Commons late Thursday night.
The two-month tax break covers dozens of items, including children's clothes and toys, video games and consoles, Christmas trees, restaurant and catered meals, wine, beer, candy and snacks. It would take effect on Dec. 14 and run until Feb. 15, 2025.

Trust God to remember you
Lamentations 3:25-29
If you want to trust God to remember you, stop running and start waiting! "The LORD is good to those who wait for Him" (Lamentations 3:25a). Stop running! Wait patiently.
Next, start seeking Him. "The LORD is good to those who seek Him" (v. 25b). So, instead of ignoring Him, return to His open arms and start seeking Him again.
