'Join us Online': Canadian churches plan Day of Prayer and Fasting for peace on Friday

Tragedy has been front and centre across the globe for the past few years.

The war in Ukraine is quickly approaching its second anniversary, while the Israel/Gaza conflict heads into its fourth month.

"We are especially heartbroken for the Christian community in Palestine, who find themselves caught in the middle, struggling to hold on to their presence in the Holy Land," said The Anglican Chruch of Canada in a statement online.

'It's just such a privilege': Marika Siewart and Brian Doerksen release new single

Marika Siewert and Brian Doerksen have released a new single.

The pair, who are friends in real life and collaborators as artists, songwriters and filmmakers, first met around 15 years ago.

"We cast Markia in a vocal role for a musical we were writing and then recording all the soundtrack for, and she was just perfect for a role," said Doerksen. "Ever since then, we've tried to come up with a way we can collaborate and make our differences turn into a harmony that made it more than just two individual things."

God’s Word touches prison inmates in Tanzania

After Mission Cry recently brought Bibles to a prison in Tanzania, it seemed the whole place erupted in worship and praise to God.

Isaiah 55:10-11 tells us that God’s Word does not return empty but accomplishes the purposes He has for it, without fail. That’s what a recent story from Mission Cry calls out.

Mission Cry sends shipping containers packed with Bibles, seminary books and Christian literature to 179 countries around the world.

God's Directions

Genesis 43:1–12

So their father, Jacob, finally said to them, “If it can’t be avoided, then at least do this. Pack your bags with the best products of this land. Take them down to the man as gifts—balm, honey, gum, aromatic resin, pistachio nuts, and almonds. Also take double the money that was put back in your sacks, as it was probably someone’s mistake." (Genesis 43:11–12)

Birth control, diabetes meds could be covered if Liberals clinch NDP pharmacare deal

Pharmacare negotiations between the Liberals and NDP are on a knife's edge, and the main point of contention is the number of drugs they plan to start with.

If the parties reach a deal, they plan to begin by launching with a select few drug categories while they continue to formulate a more robust national drug plan, two sources with knowledge of the talks said.

The parties have already agreed to cover birth control through a single-payer program in the first go around, and they are also in talks to include diabetes drugs in the program.
