Fort St John RCMP investigate suspicious structure fire
On February 6, 2025 at 6:08pm, the Fort St John RCMP received a report of a structure fire on the 8100 block of 100th Avenue, Fort St John.
Fort St John frontline RMCP officers attended the scene along with Fort St John Fire Service.
While front-line police officers were enroute, police received information that a potential suspect had been observed fleeing from the scene. Additional front-line police officers attended and located the suspect and took them into custody without incident.

Gavin Davis is wanted by the RCMP
The Fort St John RCMP is requesting the assistance of the public to locate 35-year-old, Gavin James Lee Davis, who is currently wanted on multiple warrants for Flight from police, Dangerous operation of a conveyance, 2x Careless storage of a firearm, Posses firearm while prohibited, 2x Breach of Release Order, and Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (Controlled Drug and Substances Act [CDSA]).

New continuing care home spaces now open in Spirit River
Spirit River’s first Type B continuing care home (CCH) spaces (formally known as designated supportive living spaces) are now open at Pleasant View Lodge, enabling more community members to receive a higher level of care closer to home.
Residents began moving into the new spaces in November.
The new facility, located at 5120 44 Ave., includes a total of 52 CCH spaces, as well as 40 lodge spaces.
New EMS station officially opens in Valleyview
The new Alberta Health Services (AHS) EMS facility in Valleyview marked its official grand opening today.
Located on grounds of the Valleyview Health Centre, the three-bay station is a state-of-the-art building designed to better accommodate local staff and ambulances, reflecting the growing and changing needs of the community.
The $4.1-million facility was completed in late 2023 and funded by the Government of Alberta’s Infrastructure Maintenance Program.
