Youth identified after weekend graffiti spree in Kindersley

A youth has been identified in connection with a series of graffiti incidents that occurred over the weekend in Kindersley.

In its quarterly report, the Kindersley RCMP said the suspect was identified with the help of the public. The youth has been caught and will be dealt with under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

The graffiti appeared in multiple locations across town between Friday and Sunday. Social media posts over the weekend documented the vandalism, which affected homes, buildings, driveways and vehicles.

Tories dominate west-central Saskatchewan ridings in federal election; voter turnout ranges from 64 to 76 per cent

Conservative candidates cruised to landslide victories across west central Saskatchewan in the federal election, with voters in Swift Current—Grasslands—Kindersley overwhelmingly backing incumbent Jeremy Patzer for another term.

Patzer secured 82 per cent of the vote, collecting 32,297 ballots. Liberal challenger William Caton finished a distant second with 11.2 per cent (4,420 votes), followed by the NDP's Alex McPhee at 5.7 per cent (2,261). Independent Maria Rose Lewans garnered 1.1 per cent (425 votes).

Team Saskatchewan A claimed the top spot at the Interprovincial 5 Pin Bowling Championship, taking home gold after a nail-biting series of playoff matches in Saskatoon this past weekend.

The national event, held April 23–27, brought together teams from across the country to compete in one of Canada’s most celebrated bowling championships. Some Conservative MPs voice support for Poilievre as party stays silent on next moves

Some Conservative MPs are expressing support for party leader Pierre Poilievre after he lost both the federal election and his own seat on Monday.

In his concession speech early Tuesday morning, Poilievre indicated he would stay on as leader. The Conservative party did not respond when asked Wednesday whether he has officially decided to stay.

"My view is he's not going anywhere," said Kory Teneycke, Ontario Premier Doug Ford's former campaign manager and a former director of communications for former prime minister Stephen Harper.

Dig Safe Awareness Tour rolls into Rosetown to promote underground safety

Industry professionals, town representatives, and municipal employees gathered Wednesday morning at the Rosetown Elk’s Hall as the Saskatchewan Common Ground Alliance (SCGA) hosted its latest stop on the 2025 Dig Safe Awareness Breakfast Tour.

The annual event, held in conjunction with April’s designation as Dig Safe Month in Saskatchewan, drew participants from across west central Saskatchewan — including representatives from private industry, as well as staff from the Town of Rosetown and the Town of Biggar.
