McGillivray in the morning moments

It's a wonderful time of year right now, canola fields are nice and bright. If you catch the flax at the right time of day, you're in for a beautiful sight as well. Plus, we have a great selection of old barns in the southeast, that don't mind their photo taken at any time of the day. I decided a long time ago, never drive by a scene that you like, you never know if you'll see it again. I've seen a lot of barns collapse over the years or just be torn down and it changes the landscape. I always feel, if you look hard enough, there's always a composition that will create a great photo.

New era for 9-1-1: Saskatchewan's shift to next generation technology

The Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency (SPSA) and SaskTel are working on preliminary steps to introduce the next generation of 9-1-1 services.

Saskatchewan will be the first province to transition all 9-1-1 communication centers to the Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG9-1-1) environment, in compliance with the new federal mandate.

Once the project is complete, Saskatchewan’s Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs) will offer multiple ways for the public to communicate with 9-1-1. These features will provide emergency services with more informed and effective responses.

Power line safety a critical skill as harvest approaches

Power line safety is one topic farmers should memorize as harvest approaches with plenty of work on the horizon.

Many farmers will be moving giant machinery across fields for over 12 hours a day, and between the stress of harvest and fatigue, there's a lot of room to make a mistake.

SaskPower Spokesperson Scott McGregor talks about how farmers can prepare for the upcoming season.
