Sidewalk repairs set to last a week on 10th Ave NE in Swift Current
The City of Swift Current has announced another sidewalk repair project.
The section of 10th Avenue Northeast between George Street East and North Hill Drive.
The work will begin tomorrow, and is expected to take one week to complete, weather depending. Restrictions will be in place.

On May 18, 2025, Angela Jean Maynard passed away peacefully in Princeton, BC at the age of 97 years, with family by her side.
Angela is survived by her children, Kimball Maynard, Braden Maynard, Dierra Maynard (Lloyd) and Leanne Williams (Ron); as well as her grandchildren, Hayden, Shelby, Sierra, Lindsay, Matthew and Tyra.
Angela is predeceased by her husband, Lloyd George Maynard and son, Craig Thomas Maynard.

Committee seeks to remove license of former Swift Current teacher
A former Swift Current high school teacher could soon have her teaching certificate revoked in light of pleading guilty to sex crimes involving a minor.

Researchers say pediatricians, family doctors and parents need to learn more about what kind of performance-enhancing substances kids are using when they work out or play sports.
Seventeen per cent of more than 800 Canadian pediatric specialists surveyed say they saw adolescents who needed medical attention due to dietary supplements or performance drugs over the previous year.
The majority of cases were boys and more than half of them were between 13 and 15 years old.
Almost a third of the patients were even younger — between 10 and 12 years old.
