570,000 calls and counting: Province celebrates public safety telecommunicators
Saskatchewan recorded 570,000 calls in 2024 involving 911 phone operators, whether it be taking the call, dispatching the information, or working together to assist technicians across the province.

Local churches set up for Easter services, mass, and more
Swift Current and area residents and families can enjoy a wide range of Easter services this week from over half a dozen different local churches.
The Swift Current Comprehensive High School will host a Good Friday service in the gymnasium on April 18 at 10:30 a.m. with several groups and churches.
Trailview Alliance and Bridgeway Church will both participate in the Good Friday service at the Comp, sponsored by Swift Current Ministerial, and each will hold a Sunday service at 10:30 a.m.

The lineup of musical acts performing at this year's Calgary Stampede just got a whole lot more interesting.
The Stampede announced the lineup for the Big Four Roadhouse on Tuesday morning, and it features quite an eclectic mix.
From Natasha Bedingfield to Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit to Tom Morello, formerly of Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave, and heritage pop and hip-hop acts TLC and De La Soul.

Moose Jaw area gets update to provincial healthcare worker retention program
The provincial government has announced 16 additional locations that will benefit from Saskatchewan's Rural and Remote Recruitment Incentive (RRRI) program — under the program, new, permanent full-time employees who sign a three-year return-in-service contract can receive incentives up to $50,000, paid out over the three-year term.
The incentive is offered to nine high-priority health occupations in rural and remote communities experiencing or at risk of service disruptions due to staffing challenges:
City of Estevan SUMA resolution passes, looking to support mental health resources
During the Saskatchewan Urban Municipality Association's (SUMA) annual convention, cities put forward a number of resolutions to be voted on as to whether they'll pass and be a priority for the organization moving forward. The City of Estevan put forward their own resolution, which concerned funding for mental health initiatives and supports.

Crime rates in Moose Jaw continue to trend downward
According to the Moose Jaw Police Service’s March statistical extract, crime rates continue to trend downward.
Crimes against the person were down 16.9 per cent, from 124 year-to-date in 2024 to 103 in 2025.
Acting Chief Rick Johns said he was a bit surprised to see a dip in crimes against the person, especially during the winter months.
