AHS: Confirmed measles case leads to potential exposure alert in Banff
Alberta Health Services (AHS) said Tuesday that it has been notified of additional exposure times of an individual with confirmed measles in Banff who has been in a public setting while infectious.
In a news release AHS said:
“Additional locations may be released if necessary.”
According to the release, individuals who were in the following location during the specified dates and times may have been exposed to measles:

Water main break will disrupt highway traffic in Kerrobert
A water main break on the 100 block of Pacific Avenue in Kerrobert has forced the closure of one highway lane as crews work to repair the damage.
The southeast-bound lane highway 31, the direction heading out of town toward Kindersley or Saskatoon, is blocked off until further notice while the excavation and repair work continues.
Town officials are urging motorists to slow down and use caution when driving through the area, as workers and heavy equipment are on site.
Crops looking good but are thirsty for rain
A farmer in the Randolph area guesses he is about ten to fourteen days away from the start of harvest.
Jason Rempel of Rempelco Acres says this year they are growing their usual mix of wheat, barley, canola, corn, and soybeans. He notes though most of their acres are in the Randolph area, they are also growing crops near Zhoda and Pansy.
According to Rempel, his wheat and barley are getting close to maturity.
No injuries in Balzac collision; Calgary sees two fatal collisions on holiday Monday
A collision that slowed southbound traffic on the QEII Highway near Balzac Monday afternoon did not result in any injuries, according to Airdrie RCMP.

New vice-principal joins École Olds Elementary from Fort Vermilion
Chinook’s Edge School Division has appointed Stephanie Acreman as the new vice-principal of École Olds Elementary School starting in September.
Acreman joins the division from Fort Vermilion School Division, where she worked as a Grade 3 teacher and numeracy coach.
“I am looking forward to getting to know staff, students and the parent community of Olds Elementary,” said Acreman.
Change in leadership announced by Southeast Events Group
Southeast Events Group (SEG) has announced a change in leadership.
Grant Lazaruk, who is President of SEG, says Jeffrey Bannon has departed as General Manager of the Southeast Event Centre in Steinbach. The move took effect last Wednesday.
"He has played a pivotal role in the growth and success of the company," says Lazaruk. "And we extend our sincere appreciation for his leadership and dedication to the centre."

Banff sign to move to safer spot for tourist selfies in fall
A popular selfie spot for visitors to Banff National Park is being moved to what town officials say is a safer site.
The two-metre-high, $350,000 sign that simply reads "Banff" was installed in 2017 on Mount Norquay Avenue, one of two entrances into the Alberta mountain park’s idyllic townsite.
But the narrow two-lane road, which runs from the Mount Norquay Ski Resort seven kilometres away, is fraught with traffic jams, even between the peak tourist seasons of winter and summer.
