How many collisions have there been in Airdrie in the past 24 hours?

According to RCMP statistics, seven motor vehicle collisions were reported in Airdrie between midnight Wednesday and 11:30 a.m. Thursday.

Across Southern Alberta, 47 collisions occurred, with Strathmore reporting the most, at eight. Airdrie and Okotoks tied for second place, each recording the highest number of collisions, mainly on Wednesday; only five collisions were reported on Thursday.

Reiter ready to manage budget, take on leadership role

The longest serving member of the Saskatchewan Party cabinet is stepping into a bigger role.

Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe has given Rosetown-Delisle MLA Jim Reiter significant responsibility as Minister of Finance and Deputy Premier.

"I'm very excited about it," Reiter said. "I feel very honored that Premier Moe has selected me for this, and I'm just very much looking forward to getting to work."

Hundreds gather to raise funds for children fighting cancer

The Manitoba Hydro building will be abuzz Thursday evening as hundreds of Winnipeggers participate in the sixth annual Ride Inside stationary bike event.

Over 240 riders will ride inside to raise funds for childhood cancer.

This year's event ambassador is a 2-year-old boy named Javi.

In April 2024, after weeks of feeling unwell, Javi's parents took him to the hospital. After just 24 hours, the toddler was diagnosed with acute lymphotic leukemia, a form of red blood cancer.

Manitoba RCMP officers to begin wearing body cameras

RCMP officers in Treherne will be among the first in our province to start using body-worn cameras, beginning December 4th.

Manitoba RCMP announced that between November 22, 2024, and April 2025, more than 490 officers in 44 Manitoba detachments will be equipped with the cameras. This will include detachments that provide policing services to Ebb and Flow First Nation, Peguis First Nation, Sioux Valley Dakota Nation, Chemawawin Cree Nation, O-Pipon-Na-Piwin Cree Nation as well as a number of other First Nation communities.
