Nutrien presents hundreds of teddy bears to Wheatland EMS

Hundreds of teddy bears were donated to Wheatland EMS by Nutrien.

The bears, 245 in total, were presented to Wheatland EMS outside of their offices on Wednesday (July 2), with this being the first time in nine years that local paramedics have taken part in the program.

"We typically give the bears to kids we see on emergency scenes," said Ryan Dahl, interim CAO with Wheatland EMS. "It helps with calming them down and making a good memory instead of a bad memory."

Wolf Creek Public Schools recently wrapped up the third year of its successful Rider of the Month program, which recognized 398 students in the 2024–25 school year for their outstanding contributions to a positive bus environment.

Here’s what’s driving Cochrane’s housing market right now

Cochrane's real estate market saw little change in overall sales compared to the same time last year, according to the latest report from the Calgary Real Estate Board (CREB).

"Gains for detached and semi-detached sales were offset by pullbacks for row and apartment units," says the CREB update.

A total of 101 homes were sold in June, with 117 new listings hitting the market. The sales-to-new-listings ratio reached 59 per cent.

"This slowed the pace of inventory growth, keeping the months of supply just below three months."
