End of Summer Pool Party delights winners
Mix 96 and Country 93 listeners enjoyed themselves poolside Thursday night.
The End of Summer Pool Party was a blast, with games, music and fun for the whole family at Splash Island.
Overall, celebrating our listeners was a fantastic night, and we hope everyone enjoyed their time by the pool as much as we did. Families won by listening to Country 93, Mix 96 or by entering on PortageOnline.

Three arrested in Ashern carjacking, weapons charges laid
On April 10, at about 4:40 p.m., Ashern RCMP received a report of a carjacking at knifepoint that occurred on Kirkfield Drive in Ashern.
The victim, a 26-year-old man from the community, said he was outside his residence when he was approached by three individuals, one man and two women known to him, who demanded his vehicle keys and threatened him with a knife. The keys were provided and the suspects fled the scene.
Single-vehicle collision near Brunkild leads to charges for drug possession and trafficking
On April 10, at about 8:10 a.m., Headingley RCMP received a report of a single-vehicle collision on Highway 3 near Brunkild. When police arrived on the scene, the vehicle had been in the northwest ditch and was being towed out. It appears the vehicle hit the ditch at about 1:00 a.m.
The male driver appeared to be impaired, and a woman was located sleeping in the backseat. A search was conducted after illegal cigarettes were located on the driver. The search located crack, cocaine, drug trafficking paraphernalia, and an undisclosed amount of Canadian currency.

Portage la Prairie RCMP is asking for public assistance.
On April 10, at about 10:00 p.m., Portage la Prairie RCMP received a report of a woman asking for help outside a business located in the 2300 block of Sissons Drive in Portage la Prairie.
Pedestrian-Vehicle collision in Portage la Prairie ends in fatality
On October 6, at about 7:50 pm, RCMP police from Portage la Prairie responded to a report of a vehicle-pedestrian collision on 3rd Street NE in Portage la Prairie.
Portage RCMP issue warrant for arrest after traffic incident uncovers drug trafficking
Portage la Prairie RCMP chased a dirt bike that was speeding on 3rd Street NE as it turned onto Trenton Avenue. The incident occurred on October 4 at about 7:25 p.m. The bike would not stop, so the cruiser turned on its emergency lights. As the speed increased, the officer turned off his lights and ceased pursuit for safety reasons.
The officer was able to continue to view the dirt bike ahead on the road when the driver began to cross the railway tracks. There, the bike toppled onto its side. The rider then dropped a backpack and fled on foot southeast into a cornfield.
Firearm seized in Portage results in multiple gun-related charges
RCMP recently found and seized a firearm at a residence on Willow Bay in Portage la Prairie.
The weapon was found last Thursday, September 14th when they located a male in possession of it.

Portage traffic stop ends with drug and weapons seizure
A week ago today (Thursday, June 29), Portage la Prairie RCMP conducted a traffic stop. It took place at about 11:40 p.m. Police observed a vehicle with extensive damage travelling westbound on King Avenue.
Two people were in the vehicle and the 53-year-old woman driver was discovered to be impaired by alcohol and/or drug, so she was detained for further investigation.
