Collision cleared up, continued hazardous driving conditions
An earlier collision that occurred between a semi-truck and a pickup truck, east of Airdrie near Range Road 284 has been cleared.
Earlier, police were on the scene and a portion of the highway was briefly down to one lane. Minor injuries were involved.
The collision is one of several that police and first responders dealt with throughout the day on Wednesday.
Update: Airdrie Mounties on scene of another collision
Airdrie Mounties have cleared the scene of a two-vehicle collision at Highway 567, east of Airdrie near Range Road 284.
Police said that they were called to the scene shortly after 1 p.m. The collision appeared to be a semi-truck and a pickup truck.
"There were minor physical injuries," police said.
Highway 567 had been reduced to single-lane traffic for a brief period, though has since re-opened. The collision is one of many that first responders have attended on Wednesday.
QEII semi-truck collision near Airdrie cleared, roads still risky
An earlier collision on the QEII, northbound of Veterans Boulevard has been cleared. According to police, the collision involved a semi-truck that was previously blocking one northbound lane.
Southbound lanes on the QEII, north of Airdrie have also been cleared.

Update: Crews on scene at multiple collisions near Airdrie
Mounties have said that the QEII northbound, north of Veterans Boulevard is now clear after a collision involving a semi-truck. Southbound QEII through Airdrie has also been cleared.
Police asked motorists to slow down, drive to winter conditions and be mindful of emergency crews that are on the scene. Road conditions continue to be icy and difficult as snow continues to fall.

Spring snow storm means icy roads in and around Airdrie
Amidst a snowfall warning, and with upwards of 15 centimetres likely to fall in the next 24 hours, roads are reported to be partly covered in snow and icy.
The QEII heading Southbound towards Calgary City limits has blowing snow with icy sections, as well as icy wheel paths, and black ice. Heading Northbound from Airdrie, similar conditions have been reported. However, Highway 2A, towards Crosffield is completely covered in snow, with icy sections and slippery wheel paths also indicated.
Spring comes with major weather warning for Airdrie
On Tuesday afternoon, Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) issued a snowfall warning for Airdrie and the surrounding areas.
"10-30 centimetres of snow is expected by Friday morning across southern Alberta. A multi-day snowfall event will start overnight tonight and last until Friday," the warning stated.
A widespread area of 10-20 centimetres of snow is expected, but an axis of 15-30 centimetres is expected from Nordegg/Rocky Mountain House south through the Calgary area over the three days.
Mounties issue warning ahead of potential spring snow storm
Southern Alberta RCMP detachments are warning motorists of what may be a very treacherous evening on the roads.
"[Mounties] are preparing for the potential of a spring storm, which may come with treacherous road conditions, in the upcoming 48 hours. Traditionally, the region between Airdrie and Innisfail on the QEII has been an area of great concern," police stated.
Police warn that if you do not have to travel, you are advised to stay home.
Think school zones don't apply on PD days in Airdrie? Think again
Recently, a local social media group lit up with countless comments about whether or not school zone speed limits are enforced on days when no students are attending school, also known as Professional Growth (PG/PD) days.
Airdrie Mounties have underlined that school zones are in effect on PG/PD days and that such days are treated the same as if classes are in.
According to the City, 'school zones are in effect from 7:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. and playground zones are in effect from 8:30 a.m. until one hour after sunset.'
