Update: One person in life-threatening condition transported by STARS following collision near Airdrie
Discover Airdrie has since learned that one person died as a result of the crash.
Airdrie Rural RCMP advises that they are now clear of the collision scene that occurred at Big Hill Springs Road and Range Road 24.
"This was a two-vehicle head-on collision. One vehicle was occupied by two female youths. The driver was transported to a Calgary hospital by EMS in stable condition. The passenger was transported to a Calgary hospital via STARS and is in life-threatening condition," an RCMP press release stated.
Highway 71 closed near Sioux Narrows after collision
Highway 71 is closed after a collision.
The Ministry of Transportation says both lanes of Highway 71 are closed north of Sioux Narrows at White Moose Road, near Bunny Lake, due to a collision.
Firefighters with Sioux Narrows – Nestor Falls Fire Rescue Services are on scene. There are no reports of injuries at this time.
Update: Police and emergency crews on scene of serious collision
The RCMP cleared the scene of a serious collision that occurred on Tuesday evening. The investigation continues.
Earlier on Tuesday, Airdrie Rural RCMP responded to the scene of a serious motor vehicle collision at Big Hill Springs Road and Range Road 24. EMS and Fire were also on the scene.

The Main St. Christmas tree is here!
Kenora drivers are reminded of traffic delays downtown today as crews with Synergy North and the city set up the Main Street Christmas Tree.
CJ Edwards brought the tree from a resident’s home on Shauna Crescent to the downtown core this morning, allowing Valleyview students to see the gigantic tree in motion.
The tree lighting ceremony is set for 5:30 on Friday!
Repair work on Birch Avenue scheduled today
Dryden drivers are warned of some delays near Open Roads Public School today.
The City of Dryden says Birch Avenue, from Ross Street to Wood Street, will be closed to traffic until 7 p.m. today as crews complete repairs to the area’s wastewater collection system.
Public Works apologizes for the inconvenience and thanks the public for their cooperation. Anyone with questions or concerns is asked to contact their office at 807-223-2367.
25-year-old dead after collision on QEII Highway
On November 12 at 6:13 a.m. Didsbury RCMP received a report of a collision between a pedestrian and a motor vehicle in the Southbound lanes of the QEII Highway North of Highway 581.
"Upon arrival, emergency crews located a deceased male who had been hit by a vehicle that remained on the scene. The deceased has been identified as a 25-year-old Red Deer resident," an RCMP press release stated.
Officers remained on the scene while a traffic analyst attended to assist with the investigation.
At approximately 10:30 a.m. regular traffic flow resumed.
Update: Airdrie RCMP on scene of fatal collision with pedestrian on the QEII
The RCMP is advising the public that traffic has resumed and the scene has been cleared.
Earlier on Saturday morning, Didsbury and Airdrie RCMP were on the scene of a fatal motor vehicle collision with a pedestrian on the QEII Highway North of Highway 581.
RCMP was redirection Southbound traffic on the QEII.

Multiple collisions reported in Kenora area
Kenora drivers are warned to stay home during tonight’s snowstorm if possible.
Multiple collisions have been reported in the community, including the Harbourfront roundabout, near the Kenora Legion and near the Lake of the Woods District Hospital, among others.
Traffic delays can be expected throughout the downtown core, and drivers are asked to take extreme caution.
Two-week closure at Whyte Ave, Albert Street
Dryden drivers are warned of a two-week closure near the Dryden Memorial Arena.
The City of Dryden says the intersection of Whyte Avenue and Albert Street, directly in front of the arena’s entrance, will be closed to all traffic until November 23 as crews continue construction work.
The city notes that access to the arena’s and Safeway’s parking lots will still be made available to traffic.
Injuries reported after head-on collision on Highway 72
Airdrie Rural RCMP is advising that the collision scene on Highway 72, just east of Range Road 280 has been cleared.
According to the RCMP, the collision was between a Dodge Caravan and a GMC Canyon.
"Initial investigation indicates that one of the vehicles crossed the center line, resulting in the head-on collision. A passenger in one of the vehicles was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries," an RCMP release stated.
