The bright lights, the meticulously maintained grassy green field with perfect white marking lines, the crack of pads and the cheer from fans; it’s hard not to enjoy football. With the excitement of the CFL regular season almost underway, children might look up to these players and feel inspired to join the sport themselves. Well thankfully, Weyburn Minor Football have opened registration for the 2025 season. Unwanted messages result in arrest: WPS handle condition breach
An investigation was initiated last week by the Weyburn Police Service following a complaint of unwanted messages sent from another person. The investigation revealed the messages to be in breach of the senders' conditions.

Southeast almost finished seeding for the spring
Farmers across southeast Saskatchewan made significant progress in the past week, with 95 per cent of seeding now complete. That’s up from 80 per cent the week before and is on par with the region’s five-year average of 94 per cent. This is just behind the provincial mark of 97 per cent complete as well, with the southwest, west-central and northeast at 99 per cent complete.

Saskatchewan Day Of Caring For Wildfire Evacuees on Thursday, June 12, is a collaborative effort that will see radio stations across Saskatchewan dedicating airtime throughout the day to raise funds and awareness for those impacted by the 2025 Saskatchewan wildfires.
Funds raised during the Radiothon will go directly to the Canadian Red Cross 2025 Saskatchewan Wildfires Appeal.

Lohse, Wade Loyal
Wade Loyal Lohse, late of Beaubier, SK passed away on June 3, 2025 at the age of 71 years.
He was predeceased by his parents, Kenneth and Mabel “Peggy” Lohse; as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.
St. Michael School: Kindergarteners release fish into Mainprize Lake
It was an exciting day on Wednesday for Mrs. Porter's Kindergarten class at St. Michael School.
While it was Mrs. Porter's fourth year taking part in the Fish in Schools program through the Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation and the Weyburn Wildlife Federation, it was an entirely new experience for the young students.
The teacher and her students received a delivery from the Saskatchewan Fish Hatchery of 100 rainbow trout eggs at the end of January, and they were able to release 84 fingerlings into Mainprize Lake after watching them grow in their classroom.
