CN Rail releases 2025-26 Grain Plan
CN Rail submitted its 2025-26 Grain Plan to Transport Canada at the end of July.
CN's Assistant Vice-President of Grain, David Przednowek, says the grain plan is based on what CN knows from customers and other stakeholders about the volume of grain and processed grain products that it expects to move over the course of the 2025-26 crop year.
Forever 41 golf tournament at Mainprize raises awareness for men's mental health
Mainprize Regional Park was filled with support, community spirit, and remembrance as over 160 golfers took part in the Forever 41 Texas Scramble Golf Tournament in memory of Arie Schimmel.
Michelle Walsh, general manager of Mainprize, said the day was about both honouring Arie and shining a light on an important cause.
“Today, we are remembering Arie Schimmel in a Forever 41, Texas Scramble Golf Tournament,” Walsh explained. “It’s to celebrate him and bring awareness to mental health and suicide. It’s really a day for his family, his friends, and the community.”

Betty-Lou was predeceased by her parents, George and Florence Green and husband, Bill Scott.

Saskatchewan's inflation rate eases in July, led by falling gas prices
Saskatchewan's inflation rate saw a slight cooling in July, primarily driven by a significant drop in gasoline prices. According to data released Tuesday morning by Statistics Canada, the Consumer Price Index for the province rose by 1.4 per cent on a year-over-year basis, down from the 1.7 per cent rate recorded in June.
'It's completely unacceptable' Theft of detour signs pose risks to workers, motorists
Contractors working on major construction projects around Weyburn reported the repeated thefts of detour signage around work sites, with most serious incidents including three signs stolen from Township Road 90, and two stolen from 16th Street.
Deputy Chief Shane St. John with the Weyburn Police Service emphasizes the severity of these thefts, saying the value of the stolen items amounted to nearly $10,000.

While some local detachment areas saw statistical increases in crime, officials note that in rural areas, even a minor change in the number of incidents can lead to a significant-looking percentage jump.
