The staff at Trailblazers Life Choices in Steinbach were the excited recipients of August's Danny's Whole Hog BBQ Lunch Break from CHVN on Thursday.

Trailblazers Life Choices is an organization that has been assisting adults with disabilities for two decades.

The Pack a Backpack School Supply Drive is off to a strong start in Steinbach. 

Donations began coming in early this morning, with all items going directly to the Steinbach Family Resource Centre (SFRC). 

Executive Director Jo-Anne Dalton says a typical school supply list includes about 30 items. 

The Herman Prior Activity Centre is heading into a packed fall schedule, with several major events lined up. Executive Director Kathy Bryce says the building is already buzzing as preparations come together.

One of the highlights this week is the annual Rainbow Auction in partnership with Sunset Palliative Care, hosted inside the auditorium. The auction coincides with the popular car hop, which has become a staple for the centre.

It's going to be a hot long weekend in the Foothills, with plenty to do.

It will be hovering around 30 above all weekend, with plenty of sunshine.

Today is the day of our second annual Charity BBQ!

Join us from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Strathmore Motor Products (SMP).

Baldwin BBQ will be cooking up the food, which can be purchased by donation, with all proceeds going back to Project H.O.P.E.

During the event, SMP will be doing a ride and drive event where each vehicle test driven will donate $25 to Project H.O.P.E.

Throughout the Summer we have had the opportunity to help a number of local non-profits through our monthly Taste Of Summer Community BBQ's. 

Well our final bbq is coming up Friday September 5th and proceeds will be going towards our local SPCA Swift Current. 

You will find us set up out front of Innovation Federal Credit Union from 11:30 am - 1:00 pm and $10 will get you a burger, chips and a drinks with all proceeds going towards our furry friends. 

The Humboldt Broncos’ Summer Hockey School has taken a new step this year with the addition of a girls-only camp. The change highlights the growing interest from local players, giving young female athletes in the area their own opportunity to develop within the program. 

The first day of school is almost upon us, and Kindersley students are getting a head start on Thursday to ensure the first day goes smoothly.

Westberry Elementary School, Elizabeth Middle School, and Kindersley Composite High School are each holding their own welcome back event tonight as students will have a chance to meet their teachers, drop off their books, and build some excitement for the upcoming school year.
