Welcome to Lakeside Festivities — Morden's new fall festival

Lake Minnewasta has long been a favourite destination for events during the summer months. This year, the lake will extend the fun of fair season into autumn with its Lakeside Festivities event in early October.  

Trisha Hoeppner, a recent addition to the City of Morden’s team, is planning the event as her first undertaking in her new role as events coordinator.  

“I feel like fall is something that we haven't tapped into,” she says. “Who doesn't love fall?” 

Sixteen13 Ministry prepares for Morden’s Pop Culture Expo

Tiffany Krahn and Harold Espinosa from Sixteen13 Ministry are excited about taking part in Morden’s highly anticipated Pop Culture Expo this weekend (Sept. 28-29). The event promises to bring together gaming, pop culture, and ministry outreach, with Krahn leading the charge in the gaming department and Espinosa guiding the broader vision of the ministry.

Box Elder Bugs are those black insects with red or orange markings on their bodies. They are primarily attracted to box elder trees but can also attach to other types of maple and ash trees as well. They can also be found everywhere, on everyone and in everything!

Weyburn schools take part in Terry Fox Walk to raise awareness for cancer research

Students at the schools in the city of Weyburn are joining others across Canada in the Terry Fox Walk. This yearly event helps raise money and awareness for cancer research, keeping Terry Fox’s dream of finding a cure alive.

The walk honours Terry’s journey and teaches students about the importance of helping those with cancer.

Celebration time! A first time win for student and teacher for MIX Classroom Of The Month

This week featured the first-ever Classroom Of The Month winner from Ms. Gandhi’s classes at Woodlawn School.

Long-time educator Ms. Gandhi had never hosted the long-running party from MIX 96 until Maddison, a dedicated student who has been entering for the title throughout her school years, finally had her name drawn as the winner.
