It's Throwback Thursday - just a minute to remember the good ol' days.

Another one bit the dust earlier this month - another newspaper. The Herbert Herald, which served a number of Saskatchewan communities for 113 years, ceased operations. It's a sign of the times.

My first job in the media business was at the Moose Jaw Times-Herald. It folded years ago.

When I got into broadcasting, we relied on newspapers and other publications for some of the news and sports we'd deliver on the radio.

Culture and colours: Rangoli creation part of annual Culture-Palooza

The Weyburn Art Gallery is gearing up for Culture Palooza, as part of the annual Culture Days Celebration. Culture Palooza is a weekend full of events that showcase different cultures within the city. Harwinder Kaur is organizing a Rangoli creation to represent part of Weyburn’s Indian community.  

“Rangoli, it's mainly colours because if we split the word, the first four letters are R-E-N-G, it means colours in Hindi.”
