The Humboldt and District Gallery invites the public to a presentation with noted historian Bill Waiser on June 4 at 7:00 pm. The presentation is entitled “We Are All Treaty People,” and Waiser will talk about the 1876 Treaty Six agreement ad what the Crown and Cree expected from the Treaty relationship.
Serving it back: Jay Eichorst returns to offer weekly volleyball sessions this summer
Local volleyball players will have an opportunity to spruce up their skills this summer under the tutelage of a local volleyball player who is a member of the University of Saskatchewan Men’s Volleyball team.
Jay Eichorst will be offering weekly sessions alongside his brother Adam at the Humboldt Curling Rink on Tuesday nights from June until August.

Horizon School Division is set to host two major career exploration events this June at the Humboldt Uniplex, bringing together more than 1,160 students along with educators, trustees, and industry professionals. The events aim to connect students with real-world career pathways through interactive, hands-on learning experiences.
Local councillor re-elected to represent Saskatchewan at National Municipalities Conference
A strong local voice for Saskatchewan municipalities returned to the national stage this past week as Humboldt city councillor Sarah McInnis was re-elected to the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) Board of Directors for a one-year term. The re-election took place during the annual FCM conference held in Ottawa, where municipal leaders from across the country gathered to discuss pressing urban issues and shape national policy.
SaskPower issues planned power outage announcements
SaskPower announces a pair of planned power outages for Wednesday, June 4.
The first will take place from 10:00am to 11:00am affecting rural customers west and northwest of Kelvington to Hwy #756.
The second will occur from 10:00am to 1:00pm affecting rural customers north and northeast of Elfros to areas west and southwest of Leslie Beach.
The outages are to provide for system maintenance. SaskPower thanks customers for their cooperation and understanding.

Saskatchewan's own Wide Mouth Mason is set to electrify Humboldt as part of the Living Skies Music Festival. Known for their blues-infused rock and dynamic live performances, the band will join a lineup that includes Big Wreck, Jade Eagleson, Captain Tractor, Aaron Goodvin, The Johner Brothers and more! The festival, envisioned as a family-friendly celebration, will take place at Centennial Park. Attendees can look forward to two days filled with music, local vendors, diverse food trucks, and a world-class production setup.

Wildfire forces more out in Saskatchewan, hotels open up for Manitoba evacuees
Winnipeg hotels were opening up Monday to evacuees who fled their homes due to raging wildfires, while to the west in Saskatchewan, thousands more were ordered to flee.
The Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency issued an alert late Monday afternoon, saying the northern town of La Ronge had ordered an evacuation as fire had breached its airport.
The agency said flames were fast-moving and that people in the community of 2,500, as well as anyone within 20 kilometres, including nearby Air Ronge and the Lac La Ronge Indian Band, had to leave immediately.
Liberal government legislation to further tighten Canada-U.S. border expected today
Public Safety Minister Gary Anandasangaree is expected to introduce a bill today spelling out the federal government's next steps on border security.
The recent throne speech promised legislation to bolster security at Canada's borders and new tools for police and intelligence agencies to help them stop the flow of deadly fentanyl and its precursors.
The government also said the Canada Border Services Agency will be given new powers to examine goods destined for export to prevent the movement of illegal and stolen products, including cars.
