Thursday Thunder Player of the week is Damon Pennoyer
This week, the Thursday Thunder Player of the Week for the Airdrie Techmation Thunder is Damon Pennoyer.
From Calgary, Pennoyer grew up playing hockey in the Springbank area. Now 18 years old, Pennoyer wanted to play more competitive Junior B hockey than what there is in Calgary, so he decided to come play for the Thunder.
Thursday Thunder Player of the week is Austin White
This week, the Thursday Thunder Player of the Week for the Airdrie Techmation Thunder is 19-year-old Austin White.
White, from Airdrie, has played hockey in the city for many years playing for teams like the CFR Brison and the AA Airdrie Lightning.
Last Friday and Saturday, the Thunder started and kept their winning streak going. On Friday, the Thunder played the Mountain View Colts, the Thunder came away with a 4-2 win. Saturday night, White got the start in the net when the Thunder beat the Strathmore Wheatland Kings 4-2.
Thursday Thunder Player of the week is Kyran Gromnisky
This week, the Thursday Thunder Player of the Week for the Airdrie Techmation Thunder is 19-year-old Kyran Gromnisky.
Gromnisky, originally from Lethbridge, spent his younger years playing in the area before making his way to play with the Thunder.
"Grom led his team in scoring this past weekend and showed some great leadership qualities," stated Airdrie Thunder Head Coach Randy Buckle.
Thursday Thunder Player of the week is Calan Blondeau
This week, the Thursday Thunder Player of the Week for the Airdrie Techmation Thunder is 18-year-old rookie Calan Blondeau.
From Airdrie, Blondeau has played hockey within Airdrie for many years, including with the Airdrie Xtreme U15 AAA, AC Avalanche U16 AAA and Airdrie CFR Bisons U18 AAA.
Shaun Guest, the General Manager of the Airdrie Techmation Thunder stated that Blondeau is a powerful offensive defenceman who is dependable and well-liked by his teammates. Blondie (his nickname) has a great attitude and is a welcomed new addition to the Thunder, Guest said.
Thursday Thunder player of the week is Tanner Chapman
This week, the Thursday Thunder Player of the Week is 21-year-old Tanner Chapman.
Born and raised in Airdrie, Chapman has been playing hockey in Airdrie for most of his life. He spent his younger years playing for teams like the Airdrie Lightning and U15 AA, AC Avalanche U16 AAA and Airdrie CFR Bisons U18 AAA.
Save on Foods Thursday Thunder Player of the week is Austin White
This week’s Thursday Thunder player is Austin White; presented by Save on Foods.
White is a rookie goalie that wears #35 for the Airdrie Techmation Thunder.
According to the Thunder's General Manager Shaun Guest, he has had 42 saves for the win against Strathmore and is a natural leader on and off the ice.
"Austin's character itself is the most impressive part of his demeanour and he displays his positive attitude daily."
This past weekend was the last regular season game, where they beat the Wheatland Kings 4-2.
Save on Foods Thursday Thunder Player of the week is Reed Chalmers
This week’s Thursday Thunder player is Reed Chalmers; presented by Save on Foods.
Chalmers is a rookie forward that wears #18 for the Airdrie Techmation Thunder.
According to the Thunder's General Manager Shaun Guest Reed had a great weekend in scoring and playing great shut-down hockey on the PK (penalty kill).
"Reed's work ethic in practice was top notch and it's showing in his gameplay."
Save on Foods Thursday Thunder Player of the week is Dylan Westlake
This week’s Thursday Thunder player is Dylan Westlake; presented by Save on Foods.
Westlake is an Assistant Captain and wears number 8 on the Airdrie Techmation Thunder team.
Westlake broke his collarbone early in October last year and has been sitting out of games since. This injury kept Westlake out of the games for three and a half months but did not stop Westlake from returning.
Save on Foods Thursday Thunder Player of the week is Joey Haden
This week’s Thursday Thunder player is Joey Haden; presented by Save on Foods. Haden wears number 23 on the Airdrie Techmation Thunder team.
Haden has played for the Thunder for two seasons and has gotten a total of 73 points, with 40 points this season; 25 goals and 15 assists.
Haden started out playing for teams like the CFR Bisons and the AC Avalanche.
This past weekend Haden played very well, according to Shaun Guest the Thunder’s general manager.
Save on Foods Thursday Thunder Player of the Week is Jared Miller
This week’s Thursday Thunder player is Jared Miller, presented by Save on Foods. Miller wears number 22 on the Airdrie Techmation Thunder team.
Miller plays forward for the Thunder and this is his first season playing for the team. Miller has played for multiple teams including the former Korean Oil Barons and the Lloydminster Bobcats. Miller says that the Airdrie Thunder is a great team and is hoping they make it all way to provincials this season.
