Ectomobile and Auroraman celebrate new Ghostbusters movie

The new Ghostbusters flick arrives in Humboldt at Reel Attractions on Friday, and it’s your one and only chance to see the vaunted “Ectomobile” in action. 

A duo of provincial “wannabe” ghost busters has tricked out an SUV as an update Ghostbusters vehicle and will be in town to celebrate the national opening and first screening of Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire at the local theatre.  

Broncos face Red Wings in round one playoffs following weekend wins

The playoff matchups are decided in the SJHL, and it took until the last minute of Saturday night's game to sort out the first round. 

The Humboldt Broncos will face the Weyburn Redwings in Round 1 after a decisive 4-1 victory on Saturday night over the visiting Flin Flon Bombers.

 The Bombers opened scoring when Bomber Anthony Piccininno put one by Benjamin Motew, but it was the last goal the Broncos netminder would allow in the regular season as Motew turned aside 35 of 36 shots on the night.

Portraits tell and incredible story at the Gallery

The stunning set of 18 portraits that line the Humboldt and District Gallery walls bears a weight and depth of story that defies description. Carol Wylie’s exhibition “They didn’t know we were seeds” is the culmination of years of work, travel, interviews and introspection about the lives and histories of her subjects. Wylie talked about the works at a Gallery event on Saturday, March 9.

Genre-bending Andrew Collins Trio coming to Watrous Civic Centre

Andrew Collins is a versatile musician at the forefront of Canada’s acoustic/roots music scene. The group will be performing at the Watrous Civic Centre on Saturday, March 2 at 7:30 pm. The show is part of the OSAC Concert Series.

He has co-founded various successful Canadian bands and is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, producer, arranger, writer, and teacher across multiple genres including folk, jazz, bluegrass, Celtic, and classical.
