A current town councillor and life-long resident of Gull Lake has decided to throw his name in to run for mayor this year.

Meet the candidate: Sam Morrison

Q. Why are you running for council?

A. I believe we all should provide some kind of community service.  I have a long history of volunteering.  While I have backed off with a lot of my commitments, I am still interested in the workings of the city and look forward to the challenge of improving the great city we all call home.

Q. Do you have experience in public service/community boards/politics?

Mayoral candidates: Meet Crystal Froese

Tell us a little bit about yourself and why you decided to run for mayor.

Well, I'm really running for mayor because I believe that Moose Jaw is at a crucial point for growth and development and this role is to seek out opportunities for our city and to build partnerships. And I believe we've missed some opportunities that would have brought more jobs to our city.

Becker looks to bring new ideas if elected for mayor

A current town councillor has thrown his name in the hat to run for mayor of the Town of Herbert and is keen to bring a fresh outlook to the table.

Born and raised in Swift Current, Ron Becker and his wife decided to move to the Town of Herbert over three and a half years ago and have enjoyed being closer to family, as well as becoming passionate about the community.

The former automotive technician noted that he isn't interested in the position for financial reasons, but rather to develop and further improve the town.

Meet the candidate: Jamey Logan

Q. Why are you running for mayor/council?

A. I chose to run for council again because I felt I have something to offer as a city councillor. I am a common sense problem solver with a business background. I love this community and will put its citizens first when making decisions about the city and the those who live here.
