A Winnipeg golf course is celebrating a huge milestone.
An anniversary to celebrate The Windsor Park Golf Course took place on Wednesday morning, marking 100 years since it first opened.
"Windsor Park Golf Course shows what’s possible when we invest with future generations in mind,” said Mayor Scott Gillingham in a news release. "A century later, it remains a popular destination for local golfers and skiers, and a reminder to keep building a city that stands the test of time."

Media from across Manitoba gathered today at The Leaf, for a preview of what to expect at Folklorama this year.
Folklorama is an annual celebration of Winnipeg's diversity and multiculturalism. The celebration of cultures is happening over two weeks in August.
"I like to describe Folklorama as a world tour at home. Folklorama is a multicultural festival that happens every year in Winnipeg," said Bisman Randhawa, a Youth Ambassador General for Folklorama.

This week is the NHL Club Business Meetings, where over 1,300 representatives from the NHL’s 32 teams and League offices are in Seattle.
Goldeyes fall to Fargo-Moorhead
The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks (39-32) defeated the Winnipeg Goldeyes (27-42) Tuesday evening at Blue Cross Park by a score of 4-2.
After three and a half innings of scoreless baseball, Keshawn Lynch and Matthew Warkentin reached on singles before Roby Enríquez ripped a two-run double off the centre field wall to give Winnipeg a 2-0 lead.
1 person hospitalized, firefighter injured in North End blaze
One person is in hospital and a firefighter is recovering following a blaze Tuesday evening in the North End.
The fire broke out just after 8:30 p.m. in a home in the 600 block of Pritchard Avenue.
The home was filled with smoke and flames when firefighters arrived. However, crews were able to get the fire under control very quickly.
One person was transported to hospital in stable condition. Meanwhile, a firefighter suffered a minor injury and was assessed by paramedics on scene. They did not require a trip to the hospital.
2 teens back in custody after breaking out of Manitoba Youth Centre
Four people are facing charges after two teens escaped from the Manitoba Youth Centre.
Winnipeg police say shortly after 7 p.m. on Saturday, two 16-year-old youths managed to get outside of the Youth Centre on Doncaster Street by finding a way through the building's exterior.
Two females aged 17 and 18 were waiting in a nearby vehicle to help the pair escape and flee from the area.
Air quality warning across Manitoba as smoke lingers during last week of July
Environment Canada is encouraging people to limit their time outside today with an air quality warning in effect for the second day in a row.
"We do have an air quality warning out for the entirety of southern Manitoba, much of central Manitoba, and parts of northern Manitoba," says Brad Vrolijk, a Lead Forecaster with Environment and Climate Change Canada (EC). "It's due to an extensive plume of wildfire smoke that moved into the region over the last couple of days."
Two wildfire evacuations set to end, another begins in ongoing dry Prairie summer
Residents of two communities were preparing to head home Tuesday, while another community was being evacuated, as crews continued to battle wildfires across a large swath of the Prairies.
Some of the 2,400 residents of Tataskweyak Cree Nation in northern Manitoba started making their way back, two months after they were forced to leave by encroaching fire.
"It's very good news this week," Chief Doreen Spence said in a video posted to Facebook on Monday night.

The District of Tofino says beaches are closed, while the province's emergency information agency says people in areas covered by the advisory should stay away from shorelines, with strong waves and currents possible.
