The federal Liberals are expected to table the annual budget sometime this fall, possibly as early as next month, after forgoing the traditional spring budget.
Fentanyl trial delayed until March
Another long adjournment in a Swift Current fentanyl trafficking trial.
The trial for 26-year-old Swati Narula and 28-year-old Kunwardeep Singh of Calgary is adjourned until March 2nd.
The case had already been adjourned for five months after their most recent appearance in April.
This time the adjournment came at the request of Singh's lawyer.
A witness he wanted to call for the preliminary inquiry was not available on Tuesday.
The earliest date each lawyer and both necessary witnesses would be available is in early March.
Local fire department attends evening incident
The Swift Current Fire Department was at Robert Street East around 7:40 p.m. on Tuesday night.
Residents of the building waited outside while firefighters investigated.

Richmound School owner released from custody
Ricky Manz has followed the self-proclaimed "Queen of Canada" out of custody.
Manz is the owner of the decommissioned Richmound School that housed "Kingdom of Canada" leader Romana Didulo and her followers.
He was released from custody on Tuesday afternoon after agreeing to conditions with the Crown.
Colts earn volleyball gold in Prince Albert
A gold medal to start the season for the Swift Current Comp Colts senior volleyball team.
They won the 16 team St. Mary Invitational Tournament in Prince Albert.
During pool play, the Colts went 3-0 with wins over Nipawin, Waldheim, and N.B. John Paul II.
The Colts then beat Meflfort in three games in the first round of the playoffs and topped Meadow Lake in the quarterfinals.
It took three games to beat Prince Albert Carleton in the semifinals on Sunday.
Swift Current then beat Lloydminster Comp 25-12 and 25-15 to win the gold.
