Water restrictions coming to Olds this week— here’s why
Olds will impose Level 2 water restrictions on Thursday at 7:00 a.m. as the town upgrades the South Reservoir. The restriction will last 24 hours, with updates provided once the work is complete.
While the North Reservoir will remain fully operational, the town will work with reduced storage capacity as the South Reservoir operates intermittently. Town officials are urging residents to conserve water during this period to maintain supply and system pressure.

With the Federal election in full swing, Airdronians are seeing more and more election signs popping up across the city, with more to come.
Willow Czaban, a senior planner with the policy planning team at the city of Airdrie, explained that election signs are allowed to go up when the writ of election is dropped. According to Election Canada, the writ of election is a formal written order instructing the returning officer in each electoral district to hold an election to elect a member of Parliament.
Report calls for stronger conservation efforts in Alberta
A recent report by the Canada Parks and Wilderness Society (CPAWS) has given the Alberta government a D- for its efforts in protecting the province’s land and water.
The D- is an upgrade from the F it received from CPAWS back in 2021.
According to the reports, the governments of Newfoundland and Labrador, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Ontario received the lowest grades, ranging from D- to F.
Rocky View Schools opens summer school registration
Registration for Rocky View Schools' (RVS) high school summer school is now open.
Summer school is available at RVS Community Learning Centre locations in Airdrie, Chestermere or Cochrane.
According to RVS, the Summer School Registration deadline for diploma-level courses is May 30; the deadline for non-diploma courses is June 6 at noon.

Update: Fire closes Airdrie transfer site, crews on scene
A fire on Monday afternoon closed Airdrie’s transfer site. According to city officials, the fire department was on site to investigate. It is expected that the site will remain closed for the rest of the day.
The transfer site is 7 kilometres west on Highway 567, next to the Airdrie rodeo grounds.
