Killarney-Turtle Mountain is hosting and evening of information tomorrow, Thursday, April 10th with two Aquatic Invasive Species specialists from the Province.  The seminar is to share more information about AIS, more specifically, zebra mussels, and how their infestation could affect Killarney Lake.

A national walk raising awareness for mental health and suicide prevention is coming up, and Steinbach is representing Manitoba.

"It looks funny because (there's) all these big cities, and then Steinbach, Manitoba. We are the Manitoba walk," says Marisol Pulido, a volunteer with the Sashbear Foundation, which is the organization behind the walk. 

Morden’s 2025 graduates are counting down the days to their big celebration — and local parents are working hard behind the scenes to make it a night to remember. For the first time ever, the Morden Safe Grad Committee has launched a 50/50 online raffle, giving the community a fun way to support the cause and a chance to win big.

The raffle is open now at fundingchange.ca, with the draw happening April 30 at 2:00 PM.

Legion member Bob Oldford of Portage la Prairie highlights local commemorations for Vimy Ridge Day, including a wreath placed at the downtown cenotaph and flags lowered to half-mast. Vimy Ridge day takes place each year on April 9, and commemorates the 1917 Battle of Vimy Ridge, which actually placed Canada in a major light on the world scene at the time.

Oldford notes the battle marked the first time all four divisions of the Canadian Corps fought together as a unified force.
