It's time for Twitter Tuesday - the best from the best of the Twitterati.

Here's an American guy I follow who says, "My wife says I'm bad tempered when I drink whiskey, so I switched to Canadian whiskey. I'm still bad tempered but I say sorry now."

This guy Tweets, ""The Six Million Dollar Man" premiered in September 1973. Adjusting for inflation, he would cost $42,882,478 in 2025 dollars."

Here's a lesson for this, the first day of school, "You need to know the difference between want and need. Like, I want abs, but I need donuts."

Adorable Adoptables: Jenny wants to be your best friend

Run, Forrest! Run! Jenny told Forrest to run and so should you, straight to the Cochrane Humane Society, to meet our latest Adorable Adoptable.

Jenny may be shy at first, but with a bit of love and a lot of treats she will quickly become your best friend.

"She's a lovely girl," says Robyn Roy, communications coordinator with the Humane Society. "We worked on her confidence building and she is ready to go."

Back to school means school zone speed shift

Just a reminder with kids back in schools, school day speed zones near Humboldt Schools are back in effect for the new school year. 

Speeds in Humboldt school zones are 30 km per hour during the designated times from 8 am to 5 pm on school days.

School zone speed restrictions are not only on Highways 5 and 20 but on adjoining streets in marked areas.

Be extra careful as kids head back to school this morning. Around the province, be aware of school zones designated by local bylaws in your community.

Dawson Trail Days returns with family fun in Ste. Anne

The Town of Ste. Anne is preparing for its annual Dawson Trail Days, a community celebration that highlights local talent, activities and traditions.

Committee member Erin Muzyka says the event has grown into a family-focused festival that aims to offer something for everyone.

“It’s a real community event that people are coming together and celebrating each other,” she says. “We just want to show that we’re a little town with a lot of heart.”

Fred Fox reconnects with Manitoba roots while carrying Terry’s torch

Fred Fox, the older brother of Canadian icon Terry Fox, is continuing to share the impact on cancer patients 45 years after he passed.

"My dad was born and raised here [Winnipeg], Terry and I, our siblings were born here," says Fred Fox, Terry's older brother. "My mom was born in Boissevain. We moved west in the 60s, but it's always nice to come back to our home province."

Terry is a Canadian icon and hero for many across the country. However, especially before he got cancer, Fred shares how life was normal.
