Creighton Lodge is one of several sites across the city set to receive help during the Estevan United Way’s Day of Caring, a long-running event that sees volunteers step up for yard work, painting, and other home maintenance tasks—often for seniors or those facing mobility challenges.

A full month of learning and creativity at the Estevan Public Library

The Estevan Public Library is offering a full slate of events this May, including free tech support, a new children’s book launch, and a financial literacy workshop for teens and adults.

EPYC May preview: Smile Cookies, Cornhole, and chocolate fondue

We’re back with another monthly spotlight on everything happening at the Estevan Public Youth Centre (EPYC). Acting Co-Executive Directors Bonnie Chepil-Kvamme and Maisy Daoust joined us on SUN 102 to talk about fundraisers, youth events, and a few new partnerships that have EPYC buzzing with activity.

Mentalist and magician Jeff Newman joined Daniel on SUN 102 to talk about his upcoming performance in Estevan — the final show in this season’s Estevan Concert Series, presented by the Estevan Arts Council.

Jeff’s mind-bending performance will take place Thursday, May 1st, 2025 at 7:30 PM in the Elecs Theatre at the Estevan Comprehensive School. His show promises a mix of magic, psychology, and mystery that has wowed audiences across Canada and around the world.

Former Estevan Bruins player facing assault, animal cruelty charges in Regina

A former Estevan Bruins player appeared in Regina Provincial Court on April 17 to face several charges.

Mason Strutt has been charged with uttering threats, possession of a dangerous weapon, assault, and two counts of animal cruelty.

He appeared by video in Regina Provincial Court and has been released from custody. His matters have been adjourned to May 15 at 9:30 a.m.

No charges have been proven in court.
