Roughriders back in playoffs after a win in Edmonton

For the first time since 2021, the Saskatchewan Roughriders have reached the Canadian Football League (CFL) postseason. 

On Saturday, the Roughriders punched their ticket to the playoffs with a 28-24 win over the Edmonton Elks.  

Saskatchewan was in positioned for the clinching victory after the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and the Calgary Stampeders on Friday night. 

Nominations open for Watrous Citizen and Coach of the Year

 

Residents who go the extra mile with volunteer work in the community of Watrous have the chance to be recognized with the Citizen and Coach of the Year Awards. 

Nomination forms are now available at the town office in Watrous or online at the Town of Watrous website.  

Recreation Director Chelsea Murfitt says volunteerism is something that is taken under strong consideration for Citizen of the Year. 

Mohawks football team looking for redemption against Delisle

 
The Humboldt Collegiate Institute (HCI) Mohawks football team will have another chance to unseat the undefeated Delisle Rebels when the two teams meet in Delisle.  

On September 20th, the two teams met in a highly entertaining back and forth game, with the Rebels securing the victory thanks to a pair of touchdowns in the final two minutes of the game.  

Broncos begin busy weekend in Kindersley

After a weeklong break the Humboldt Broncos will be back on the ice tonight in Kindersley against the Klippers.   

Last Friday, the Broncos suffered their first loss of the season with a 6-2 loss to the Yorkton Terriers.  

Head Coach Brayden Klimosko said it was good for the team to have extended time at practice before returning to action. 

Co-op Gas Bar presents St. Augustine Reading Program the proceeds of Fuel Good Day

This year's Fuel Good Day with Co-op was a big success.  

 On September 16, Co-op gas bars across western Canada donated a minimum of five cents per litre of fuel to a local registered charity or non-profit organization. In Humboldt, the recipient was the St. Augustine Reading Program.  

On Thursday, Co-op made a cheque presentation of $4349.89 to the St. Augustine Reading Program.
