Twenty of the 24 candidates running for city council took part in a candidates forum put on by the Kinsmen Club on Monday night at the Centennial Auditorium in Peacock Collegiate.

Four-term councillor vies for position of Gull Lake Mayor
A 15-year councillor for the Town of Gull Lake has decided to run for mayor this year, hoping to do more for the community he's so passionate about.
Born and raised in Gull Lake, Nasser Zanidean currently works in the oil industry and is looking to bring an open, transparent attitude with years of experience to guide the town.
Zanidean has sat on an array of boards including the Town Council, the Gull Lake Rink Boards, the Elks Board, and the Ball Diamond Committee, along with both coaching and playing several sports.

Caswell a confident candidate for Chinook School Board trustee
A life-long resident of Swift Current has stepped up to run for one of the positions as a trustee for the Chinook School Board.
Ron Caswell is hoping to bring an open and diverse perspective while focusing on the individual needs of students and giving a voice to the parents and guardians of students.
Caswell noted that his three children went through the Chinook School Division and he currently has eight grandchildren currently going through Chinook schools.

I became the Mayor of Moose Jaw after winning the 2021 by-election, and we made some good progress in my time as mayor, but we're still not done.
