A familiar spring tradition returned to Steinbach Saturday morning, as families gathered at the Mennonite Heritage Village for the 4th annual Great Easter Egg Hunt, hosted in partnership with A&W Steinbach.
Last year’s event saw around 1,100 participants, but organizers say this year’s turnout was even higher.

The City of Steinbach approved over $16.6 million in building permits in March, including several large multi-family residential developments that signal strong local growth and developer confidence.
In total, permits were issued for 72 new residential units: five single or two-family homes and 67 units across multiple multi-family projects. The total residential project value for March came in at $13,324,892.50.

RM of Ritchot seeks community input on new mascot
The Rural Municipality of Ritchot is exploring the idea of introducing a community mascot to bring more spirit and identity to local events.
Danielle Peters from the Recreation Department says the idea came from a realization that something was missing at their programs.
“We were like ‘What could this missing piece be?’ And it's that piece of identity and we're like, ‘That would be kind of cool if we got a mascot’.”
