Christopher Roy Houle

It is with great sorrow that we announce the very unexpected passing of Christopher Roy Houle at the age of 33 years on June 23, 2023. 

Chris leaves to mourn and cherish his memory; mother Rebecca Houle, stepdad Ken Sandney, daughter Adrielle Houle, sisters; Krystal Sandney, Kerri Sandney (Donald) and nephew, brother Kyle Sandney (Haylie), uncles; Brian Houle (Serena), Napoleon Houle, Keith Houle (Jennifer), as well as extended family, cousins and friends.

Florence Elizabeth Cleaver

Peacefully, Florence Cleaver passed away on June 29, 2023, at the age of 94 at the Lion’s Prairie Manor.

Florence Elizabeth Cleaver was born in MacGregor, Manitoba, March 4th,1929, oldest daughter of James and Edna Smith. She lived on the farm in Hartford School District along with brother Colin, sisters; Muriel, Anne and Norma.

Gloria Louise Borczuch

Gloria Borczuch passed away at the Douglas Campbell Lodge on June 25th after a courageous battle with ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease.

Gloria was born April 27th, 1946 in Winnipeg at the St. Boniface Hospital and grew up on her family farm in Langruth, Manitoba. She graduated from Langruth High School in 1964 and Brandon Teacher Training in 1965. She taught school in High Bluff and Sanford.

Joan Marie Collins

Peacefully on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at the Douglas Campbell Lodge, Joan Collins passed away at the age of 91 years.

Funeral Service will be held at the Omega Funeral Home, 83 Royal Rd. S., Portage la Prairie on Tuesday, June 20 at 1:00 p.m. Friends may call at the funeral home for viewing prior to the service.

Joan was born on March 4, 1932, daughter of Andrew Charles and Pearl Taylor at Lonely Lake, MB, where she was raised and received her education.

With saddened hearts, surrounded with the love of her family and friends, Dellanne Marie McFarlane, age 67 years, peacefully passed away at the Portage & District General Hospital on February 23, 2023.

A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, June 25th, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at the Sunset Palliative Memory Garden at Island Park (across from the playground) in Portage la Prairie, MB. Please bring a lawn chair.

Mary Unrau

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother, Mary Unrau, on Wednesday, June 7th,2023 at Douglas Campbell Lodge, at 86 years of age.

Mary was born on February 26th, 1937 in Winnipeg and grew up on a farm outside Springsteen, Manitoba.

Art Domes was born in 1923 in Verwood, Saskatchewan, to Olga and Archie Domes. One of five children, he grew up on the family farm loving horses, cattle, and the farm life.

NOTICE OF SERVICE:  A Memorial Service to honor Eva will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at 1:00 p.m at St. Mary’s Anglican Church, 36 – 2nd St. SW, Portage la Prairie, MB.  Fellowship and "Afternoon Tea"  to follow service.  Interment Hillside Cemetery.

Eva Marie Shewchuk (nee Epton)

Elsa ("Elsie") Langner

With her Beloved son Kelly by her side, Elsa (known by everyone as Elsie) Langner (Single), aged 95 years, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 20th, 2023 at Douglas Campbell Lodge in Portage la Prairie.

Elsie was born on March 3rd, 1928 in Waldersee, Manitoba.  She was blessed to be part of a family of 13 siblings, so life was never boring.  She attended Waldersee Cory School growing up.
