Who is our Volunteer of the Month for February?
Ann Horn is our Volunteer of the Month for February.
Horn currently serves as the Chair of The Strathmore Library Board and was very shocked to hear she won.

The reason why Horn got involved in the library is because she loves to read and meet new people.
"I just moved to Strathmore, and I wanted to meet a group of people. The main reason I did it is I love to read. I've been in a book club for over 25 years."

Polls suggest a close race as federal election approaches
Multiple polls now suggest the next federal election will be a tight race, and at least one major pollster has the Liberals leading the Conservatives for the first time in nearly four years.
A survey from Ipsos released this week suggests that if an election were held today, 38 per cent of Canadians would support the Liberals and 36 per cent would back the Conservatives.
That's a major shift from just six weeks ago, when the Conservatives held a 26-point lead in Ipsos polls.

'The kids had such a great time': Strathmore school hosts student election
Students at Trinity Christian Academy in Strathmore held a student election earlier this month.
According to junior high humanities teacher Amanda Gass, the election was held between the Grade 6 and Grade 9 social studies classes.
"In Grade 9 we study federal politics and in Grade 6 we study local politics, so this was a marriage between those two ideas," said Gass. "The idea was to give the Grade 9's the chance to do some background research on some hands-on, real-world examples about what it would take to create a political party."
