'Tanya deserves justice': Family of Weyburn shooting victim pleads for answers as RCMP praise public's help
The family of the woman killed in a shooting on Highway 39 last week is pleading for the person responsible to come forward, saying the loss has left a giant gaping hole in their lives.
The emotional appeal was released Tuesday by the RCMP on behalf of the family of Tanya Myers, who was identified as the 44-year-old victim who tragically died on September 12. The statement came during a media briefing where investigators also lauded what they called the public's fantastic response to calls for information.

The Weyburn Police Service were the first to respond to the fatal shooting on Highway 39 on Friday. They arrived at the scene shortly after 8 p.m. alongside EMS after a report of a seriously injured individual in an SUV on the Highway, approximately 3 kilometres northwest of Weyburn.
Deputy Police Chief Shane St. John says their members were able to respond very quickly.
Freeland resigns from cabinet as she takes on new role as special envoy to Ukraine
Prime Minister Mark Carney has appointed Chrystia Freeland as Canada's new special envoy for the reconstruction of Ukraine.
While Freeland announced her resignation as transport minister on social media today, she will remain in the House of Commons as an MP until the next election.
She left today's regular cabinet meeting smiling and talking with Carney, but neither answered questions from reporters stationed outside the room.
Souris Avenue closed for road construction
The City of Weyburn is advising residents of a road closure expected to last until Thursday.
Starting today, Souris Avenue will be closed between Fourth and Fifth Street for road construction. Weather permitting, the work is expected to be completed by Thursday, September 18th.
No parking will be allowed on this block today, as crews prepare for the full closure. Drivers are asked to avoid the area and use alternate routes whenever possible and obey all posted signage when travelling in the area.
Suspect identified in Midale police impersonation
The Weyburn RCMP has identified the suspect in the police impersonation near Midale on Saturday.
Someone driving on a grid road near Midale saw a vehicle come up behind them displaying flashing blue and red emergency lights. Both vehicles slowed before the suspect vehicle fled.
Risk of funnel clouds diminishes for Weyburn, but damp forecast remains
Residents across the southeast shouldn't put their rain jackets away just yet, as a forecast of cool, cloudy, and wet weather is expected to dominate for the remainder of the week.
The damp forecast comes after a weather system on Monday brought reports of funnel clouds to southwestern Manitoba.

Today is the last day of the Weyburn Humane Society's Annual Garage Sale, being held at Cecelia's Banquet Hall at 122 Fourth Street until 6 p.m.
Shelter Manager Colleen Morrice said there's something for everyone.

Today is Fuel Good Day in Weyburn
Drivers fueling up at Prairie Sky Co-op locations today will also be supporting local community groups.
Today, Tuesday, September 16th, is the annual Fuel Good Day. For every litre of fuel purchased at Prairie Sky Co-op gas bars in Weyburn, Lang, Milestone, or Beaubier, the co-operative will donate 10 cents to three area charities.
Police identify a second vehicle struck by bullet outside Weyburn
The Saskatchewan RCMP have reported that a second vehicle was struck by a bullet on Friday night just outside of Weyburn. The news comes as they continue their investigation into the fatal shooting of a Weyburn woman who was the passenger in an SUV approaching Weyburn on Highway 39.
City announces new opening date for King Street following delays
The City of Weyburn has provided an update on the construction progress at King Street and Highway 35. The full structural rebuild is part of the province’s Urban Highway Connector Program (UHCP) and has fully closed the road between First Avenue Northwest and Fifth Avenue North.
The project, initially slated for completion before the beginning of the school year, was delayed due to unexpected structural concerns and weather delays.
