Students in Steinbach are getting more involved in baseball thanks to the Jays Care Foundation. 

Don Dewey, a teacher at Stonybrook Middle School says this is the second year they’ve hosted the program created by the Toronto Blue Jays Foundation. 

Dirt was flying and engines were growling Saturday, May 24 at the Miami Fairgrounds during their annual Tractor Pull, an event put on by the Miami Power Toboggan Club and the Miami Agricultural Society.  

The Wildlife Havens Wild baby shower fundraiser was a hit in the southeast on Saturday.  

Zoe Nikata with the wildlife haven says that the event was much larger than expected.  

Woodridge held its 4th annual Car Show on the Ridge where people gathered to compete, look at cars, and raise funds for the Woodridge Fire Department.  

This fun filled day had people of all ages gather from surrounding communities at the Woodridge Community Center for a day of community and cars.   

Deputy Fire Chief Joel Grenier says that the event is supporting the fire department more than they originally expected.  

Bowling for a cause: fundraiser helps bring clean water to Nigeria

Dozens of people came out and made it a strike for a good cause at a special afternoon of bowling and community connection on Saturday.

The event, hosted by Promised Land Ministries at Coronation Bowling Centre, was a fundraiser to help bring clean water to a rural community in Nigeria.

Winkler Bible Camp is nearly booked solid for summer 2025, with over 1,500 campers registered just hours after opening. With only a few spots left and new facilities ready to welcome guests, Camp Director Dale Wiebe says the season is shaping up to be one of their biggest yet.

“Some of the best stories we hear come from kids who arrive without friends and leave with lifelong memories,” - Dale Wiebe, Director at Winkler Bible Camp. 

Portage Service for Seniors is inviting the community to its annual World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD) to-go lunch fundraiser on Friday, June 13.

The event runs from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on the west side of the Herman Prior Activity Centre parking lot and aims to raise both funds and awareness for an often overlooked issue.

Kleefeld is gearing up for its third annual car show, with hopes of helping fund renovations on the community's outdoor rink.

"Our outdoor rink is such a hub for kids and the community in general in wintertime, when things are a little grey and bleak outside," says Riley Friesen, chair of Kleefeld's recreation committee.

"It's just one of those things in the community that could really use an update so it can better serve the community."

 It's time for another Made in Manitoba, and it's all about southern gospel music on this weekend's program ahead of Don Doerksen's album release party May 31st.

Calling the Niverville area home, he grew up on the farm he currently owns and operates with his family. Don and his wife Valerie have four children, and are actively involved in the community and their church. He has been a worship leader for about 30 years, and his love of singing has come through in a variety of ways including quartets, choirs and Bible college ensembles.

Hundreds of students, parents, and community members gathered on May 22 for the 17th annual Kendra's Walk at St, John's-Ravenscourt School.

In 2009, three years after being diagnosed with an uncommon form of bone cancer, alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma, Kendra McBain planned the first Kendra's Walk fundraiser. Her mission was to create a comfortable space for teens with cancer.
